A palpable lack of interest in tomorrows match..... 18:41 - Mar 14 with 3805 viewsBloots

....not just on here, but a general feeling of "meh" about it.

Am I the only one noticing it?

Feels like we've reached the point where we've all just about had enough of the Prem to me.

In some respects it's better to get relegated like this rather than be relegated on goal difference at the end of the season.

I still feel we really need to fight hard to ensure 3rd from bottom place though. Vital we get that both for money and also because of the Man City 115 charges thing.

17th is still achievable.

Win today and you will be buzzing.

Believe!

It's a shame it's come to this with nearly a quarter of the season still to play....

But that's the harsh reality.

This time last year I could barely contain my excitement, what a difference a year makes.

I don't see that in the away ends tbh, I don't feel like that either. We are likely going down, but I want us to go down with a fight.

All this talk of 'this is not our league, blah blah' is absolute nonsense. We are bigger than a fair few clubs that have established themselves in the top flight.

One thing this thread is good at highlighting, is we are very good at talking ourselves down.

If anyone feels apathetic, they need to man up, and make sure they are right behind the team today, we are not out of this yet, all we need to be in contention in May, where we have an easier run in than Wolves. We may well be down by May, but we have to give it a bloody good go.

What would the players think if they read this thread, or people from ORG, or the manager, the CEO? Dear oh dear, we have the best setup for 2 decades, we need to keep these people invested in our club.

If we had a bigger ground, we would be in 11th placed in the Premier League for attendance this season, so what makes people think we don't belong here? Our support base would also increase for a number of years if we established ourselves.

I dreamt we beat Forest 1-0 last night so even though my conscious mind has given up on this season my unconscious mind obviously hasn’t!

Our two games against forest at their gaff were very tight. I still have the hump with that guy that dived for the pen. Whilst I think forest have 5 or 6 top players I still think they are mostly a tough watch. A few times I have said this time next year I think their fans will grow tired of the way they play.

Certainly is the first game I'm not looking forward to, but still the chance of 3 points for us. Come on saints too today.

I feel like there is nothing on the game. I know there is plenty to be got from it in reality, but I’ve seen the PL now and will be happy when it’s over from a personal point of view. Onwards and upwards.

A lot of their games are tight as were ours last season but they have found a way to win we haven't.

7 points is a bridge beyond, 3 wins all season remember, even 3 in a row now would likely see us still third bottom.

Two sides to it. If we managed to fluke a win and Wolves lose, they might start getting a bit nervy and it opens the door a crack. At that stage it's back on.

But we aren't seeing evidence that we can or might win a game. Against Bournemouth and Leicester we were undone by late equalizers, we aren't even at that stage anymore where we're taking games that late. We managed to scrape a draw at Villa and might have scraped a draw at Palace, but fell short. We look a long way off getting three points sadly.

Yeah, still only needs one weekend where we do better than Wolves to pull us back in at the moment. Just that we keep finding creative ways to lose. Even getting the draws we were getting earlier in the season would see us with a better chance.

I've felt a bit meh all season (about the footy). And completely deflated after the Fulham game. Annoyingly, still bothered, but nothing like the last, well, forever really, when every defeat would still be bugging me the next day.

Of course you are right. It would be nice to look like we have a chance instead of our mantra for the season which is often "played ok, but lost".

It's fair to say I don't have the matchday buzz and fully expecting a 1,0, 2-1 defeat but that said you just know we will have a 20 minute spell or a goalless first half that get's your hopes up. That's what I hate most about this season, I can picture it now, HT 0-0 and Saints 1 up, FT 1-0 loss Wolves win 3-1.

But yeah for me this league is PreMEHier
