If I recall correctly the first season or two after being introduced they had the 3rd from bottom play the the 3rd in the league below … or something possibly close to that.. I wonder if that would be a good one to resurrect just for this season ?
Wasn't part of the reason for that was because they were looking to reduce the number of teams in the old Division One? (ie. before it became the Prem)
Isn’t that why we played Charlton or am I confused ……
That’s when Charlton played at Selhurst park. I remember being there for that play off game. Seem to remember having a sh1te view, blocked by a pylon or something like that? Was a long time ago, and I hardly remember the consistency of this mornings poo, so accurate stories from that long ago are nigh on impossible.

From my video footage it was nicely solid and you should be equally proud of the colouring too

I was at that game on the Sunday morning, 11.30am kick off as we stood on the Holmesdale Road Terrace. Jim Melrose scored twice for Charlton and Steve Mccall with a late reply for town. Charlton stayed up after beating Leeds at Birmingham.
As is Herb Alpert which astonished me yesterday …. I’ve put a hex on him now haven’t I sorry jazzistas.

I had it in my so-called mind that he was the cat who did that instrumental thing in the (late eighties)? when I was a wee nipper, but I can't find it. What/who am I thinking of?
It goes "du-duh, du-duh, du-duh-duh-duh, du-du-duh, duh-duh, du-du-du."
Good luck.
edit: I thought I just had it, but it's not Axel F, that's an entirely different set of du-duhs.

I wonder if the 3rd place Champ team would prefer to take their chances in the play offs as they are now... or a one-off game v us. Even though it's more games, I suspect the former. Probably a tight call though!

Burnley would pick a two-legged tie against us with no hesitation, Im sure. They are a better functioning team than us and probably beat us.

Perhaps. I haven't seen anything of Burnley... but given how our reserves took apart 5th placed Coventry at their place with little issue, I wouldn't say "no hesitation". I also said a one-off game (I was thinking at Wembley). But of course we don't know what the rules would be in this hypothetical situation.
