Malcys Wedding and TWTD Historical Highlights 09:14 - Mar 28 with 16536 viewsKeno

mention Malcys Wedding and Matts reply made me think there there are many 'newer' posters who may not be aware of some of TWTD's historical highlights so I thought maybe we should have special thread to showcase the best of TWTD's past

So what are TWTD's finest moments?

The fella who posted about 12 times in total across 5 years but all of them were about whether he could get away with eating a hotdog during a minutes silence.

Superb content

I know it was mentioned on P2 but you’re absolutely right to mention it again. It’s the perfect bit of internetting. Harmless, expertly placed apart, mental. I love it when that thread is sometimes resurrected.

Ah, resurrected threads...like when there is a draught excluder in a game and it reminds us about Who's_Blue not knowing the term.

I am torn between thinking it funny or disrespectful and sad. I think I fall on the side of funny. It really is harmless as Swailesy says.

Malcys Wedding and TWTD Historical Highlights on 08:46 - Mar 30 by Lord_Lucan

The Kings Arms is just around the corner from my office and one lunchtime I ended up there by mistake. I was playing with my phone and put Neil Young on Youtube.

As if by magic it suddenly appeared on the pubs TV. I thought it an unlikely coincidence so I put New Order on and they also popped up on the TV.

The landlord and landlady were out so I put on The FA Cup Final followed by the Alex Mathie Demolition Derby - much to the bemusement of the locals.

I still don't fully understand how this happened. Coincidently they barred me a week or so later for an unspecified reason - although peace is now restored.

The lovely Bluebells holiday thing was when I was refused passage back from Mexico, I might touch on this when I get back but I'm just taking the hound out. It was a big TWTD community thumbs up rescue mission.

As Jethro would say......."Whaaat happened waaaaas"

Lady Lucan and I were travelling back from Mexico and they refused to fly me. The captain came out and pretty much advised me to stop pleading my case as no way was I going to be allowed on the big bird!

Lady Lucan flew without me and I had to arrange travel through USA the following day so I found a hotel in town.

I forgot to mention that Lady Lucan is really bad at travelling from A to B, she gets a bit anxious and hasn't got a great command of the transport network so I was worrying how she would get back to Ipswich.

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I had lost my phone. Thankfully I always carry a spare phone when I travel but for some reason I couldn't call or message overseas on it.

My only communication with blighty was through the medium of TWTD.

I posted a distress message on TWTD that my lad picked up on and he phoned a few of my mates but they had all had a beer so he then posted a message on TWTD and out of nowhere the amazing NORTHSTANDOLDIE popped up. Now then, I never knew Northstandoldie but he messaged my lad and volunteered to drive down to Gatwick with immediate effect and pick her up.

If you are about Northstandoldie please put your hands up.

As for me, I transited through USA the next day and it was the day that Trump hit power for the first time and there was security everywhere as he was checking all the incoming Muslims out. Unfortunately I had to lie on my ESTA thing so I was a bit panicky whilst going through.

When I got to LGW two days later I didn't know who had my car as it was a meet and greet and all the details were on my phone.

When I eventually arrived back at Lucan Towers I was greeted with an unusual amount of cheer as they both thought I had been detained and banged up in USA

Have you any memories of the story of THAT train journey where you found an unmentionable bag of substance that you just thought it be fun to try while live reporting the aftermath of it on said train journey.

That was glorious stuff and really was a ‘you had to watch the thread live to truly enjoy it at peak level’ content.

From my time here the threads that stick out include.

A poster having a complete meltdown when Cook was sacked - blaming a few posters on here for it.

An ex-army poster having a meltdown when someone called him a Walter Mitty.

Non-meltdown wise, the thread when ‘Colin Healy made Cesc Fabregas look like Colin Healy" makes me smile. Was that ever rectified?

Before my time - someone’s wedding photos gets referenced on here sometimes but I get the feeling that that thread had darker undertones.

Your last paragraph....see him sometimes but see his Mrs more. She's in a local band.

Amazed we got this far without the slightly bonkers Newmarket Blue getting a mention!

I don't know why it stuck with me but there was also the guy who tried to post an image and instead revealed his real name - as it was in the URL for his hard drive which he posted the link to instead. I seem to remember quite a long thread of him trying to resolve it and getting more and more frustrated as lots of people took the mick - probably out of his posting history which now had a human attached.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Returning to Malcy, his attempt to sue the club for not recogning his alternative Haverhill supporters club was epic, which, I believe ended with him stating that he couldn’t say anymore because “”It’s gone legal”
