Women's team, we're all fingers crossed, believe it's going to happen. Having been in that position, it doesn't feel it's as inevitable as everyone else. If they get over the line, well deserved and fruit of many years.

Ben Godfrey, injury and illness for a couple of weeks after he last played, then went with other players, Axel back, Dara. Back training fully witht he group. Good around his teammates. Coming to a new club in January difficult, especially when you've not played many games.

Burgess, any talks? Cameron is important for us, have been conversations for quite a period of time. Not most up to date versions of that. Don't think there's a definite conclusion yet. Cameron is a senior player now, in last year of contract, has right to explore his options. Whatever happens, Cameron is always going to be part of club folklore. I'd like to still have him around, if he sees another way, then won't change how I feel about him.

Asked whether he'll still be here next season, said yes, I'm still happy here, staying last summer was right thing to do. Club has a bright future, on the way up, despite probable backwards step. Proud to be part of it, proud to lead the club in the Premier League, already looking forward to progressing club next season.

Axel, similar position to Burgess. Muric out for season, Chieo and Wes making expected progress, Szmodics still expected back before end of season.

I was reading some of the para quotes by Phil. I wondered whether it was the lunchtime ouzo here in Athens or whether he’d had a drink himself 🤔

Offer him a new contract removing or amending the clause?

Think we're past that point.

You need a replacement PA then, strange nickname though.

No real need, just direct him to this forum as all the experts are on here

In fairness I think many of the Facebook forums have more so called experts at the moment - close though

It would be such a shame to lose him for such a small profit relative to his real value to a PL club which must be North of £50M, bearing in mind the season he has had and his unique style of play.

But without that clause, we probably wouldn't had signed him.

I guess we'll never know. But remember that this particular clause relates to relegation. It's of much more benefit to Delap than to City. All things being equal, (looking through summer 2024 eyes), ITFC staying UP would have been more likely to create an environment in which City wanted to re-sign Delap, so I can't see that this clause was really inserted by City.

Assuming that's right, the thing preventing us from signing him would have been Delap saying no, unless this clause was included. I am very sceptical that he would have chosen to stay at City, who were expected to have another excellent season, and he wouldn't have been expected to see much game time. City also may have been irritated with him saying no to us on the basis of some poxy relegation clause.

So I have my doubts that excluding this clause (or even just increasing the fee from £30m to £40m) would have been a deal breaker for Delap. But we'll never know, and it's easy to be critical after the event.
