Hirst for Delap is interesting. I did say predominantly out of petulance, that the change should be made if Delap isn't going to add any more transfer value by appearing.
Broadhead was quiet against Wolves. I'm not sure why Clarke didn't get a chance off the bench. Hope he does well today.

Davis ffs, obviously a favourite that's this teams downfall,
Townsend is a very reliable DEFENDER something Davis can not do,he was only on last week 15 minutes and didn't close his guy for a cross to a goal,

Quite a few, can think of numerous ones off the top of my head. Bournemouth, Wolves, Villa, Utd, Fulham and a Fulham penalty.
He’s a very good attacking championship fullback, who was found out at times in League 1 and Championship. In time I’m sure he’ll make it at this level, but yes definitely costly. |  |

I don't think this could be put better. Edgelord is the perfect description of people jumping on this. I like Townsend but it's ridiculous how his ability has been elevated by a nonsense notion that Davis is now a liability.
Davis needs to improve defensively a bit. But he still offers so much. He's one of our best player and that won't be changed by these edgelords!! | |

And we've conceded loads down our right as well but the defenders on that side - who are usually much less progressive as full backs - don't come in for as much stick as Davis does. There are obviously areas where Davis can improve but he's a very good modern full back who has been close to the England squad in the recent past. The way some fans (not you but others) slate him is crazy. And the reason he's starting ahead of Townsend today is because he's a better footballer than Townsend I'd imagine. |  |
