Someone at Needham told a friend of mine they thought he'd had time here at one point earlier. We've been looking at him for a while, there was interest prior to his trial at Bournemouth, might even have ended up on the other team when he played in that U18s game. |

A fantastic signing at that. He's built like a sh*thouse for his age. Needham Academy have been raving about him for the last 18 months, he's come on tremendously physically and technically.
Had an extended trial with Bournemouth a month or so ago, I believe. But if we can't sign one of Suffolk's best young players, there's something wrong, right?! |
With regards to your last sentence it makes little difference once he is on the radar of clubs at a higher level. It is good we were able to sign him if he turns out to be good enough. One assumes any interest from Bournemouth wasn't sufficient to offer more than we were prepared to offer. We saw with Simpson that just because a player looks good at one level doesn't mean he will make it at the level we will be at. I hope the lad does make it but someone at any interested club has to make a call on whether he is worth giving the chance to. |  |

There was one crunching tackle he put in on the sideline [and somehow was awarded the throw in...!] that made you sit up and take note. Brightlingsea a big physical side but he stood up to a fair old bombardment at times as F&W had a lot of set pieces and the like and despite all their player the keeper didn't need to make a save really bar one decent one in the first half - which for game state is a pretty impressive defensive display |  |

As a non-league fan, it's great to see these lads move into the pro game.
Yeah it was a great save from Lewis in the first half. Our left wing back missed the header as well so could have been three nil up at half time!
I think the difference with Walker is how well he reads the game at a young age. He steps in front when he needs to, knows when to commit or not and doesn't miss much in the air at all.
Didn't see it much last night but he also has a good drive on him with the ball, ala Titus Bramble. | | | |
