Seems unlikely now, with Davis and Townsend.

Longevity wise of course you can't knock him. I imagine around the time he left us though most of us would have predicted more than 3 England caps.
And he's not played a great deal for a lackluster West Ham in the last couple of years.
Not sure top six was ever a non starter but perhaps physically that would have been difficult, and he's never been rock solid defensively. I haven't seen as many lung busting overlapping runs as I probably expected when he left us. | |
