I don't know what the answer is to our midfield next season 21:33 - May 13 with 2221 viewsSimonds92

But it's not Ben Sheaf. Poor man's Cole Skuse.

I though that, looks average.

The only Muff in Town.

Wonder if we have moved on from him, we do have a habit of going after targets we have wanted before

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Hope not Hackney or Sheaf.
Not good enough. Different type of player but Grimes is a good player rarely gives the ball away.

Haven’t seen him this season, but must admit, the season before I thought he was one of the best midfielders in the division. Funny how things change.

Could he possibly have had a poor game?

That's what I thought after the first game.

Sakamoto should be the one we take from them. Looked a great player

The last two games I thought he looked like he’d had a big old roast dinner with all the trimmings, a dessert and half a bottle of red just before kick off. He didn’t impress me at all.

Definitely, he did. As he has done in the other 3 games, I've seen him this season. Admittedly, I don't watch him every week, but in terms of his style of play, it doesn't really suit us. We need tenacity and athleticism.

I thought that from the first game, for a second... and then I remembered we have lots of tricky, nippy, slight players already.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Never been for one judging a player on one game. Would have thought we’ll have one eye on a PL return so it’s going to need to be someone with a higher ceiling than decent Champ player. If only we could find the next Wharton !

He's had a season blighted by injuries in truth. He's a stylish player when he's fully fit and in form. Alongside someone with the tenacity and athleticism you speak of, Sheaf would do very, very nicely in our double pivot.

We absolutely don't need him but I'd take Sakamoto. Brilliant player.

I've seen him a lot and he's very good. For me one of the top few midfielders in the champ for the last few years. Probably not suiting him quite so much playing with Grimes (also decent) but Sheaf would be great in the Morsy role. Very comfortable on the ball and can collect in tight spaces etc.

Yeah this is one where Cov may well regret not having cashed in at the end of last season when his stock was rising like slightly older Adam Wharton. No longer.

Wharton was fantastic against us. I was gobsmacked he didn't make Tuchel's next squad.

There has to be another Keane/Bryan Robson/De Bruyne type out there in the European Leagues somewhere! We are in a very good position regarding homegrown status players in our squad already, so we can look anywhere.
