If we had Eze, Wharton, Sarr et al we might not have.

Our gameplan wasn't that dissimilar to Palace, as we saw with our goal on the counter at the Etihad and Delap's chance early doors at PR. Unfortunately, we don't have a smattering of England (and other) internationals like Palace do.

Palace have got some terrific players and a good team. We have one or two who can play at that level and a poor team. They look very well coached too.

Man City? No it wasn’t about respect. Even a struggling Man City were always going to be a too tough a proposition and we never got near them.

Palace are light years ahead of us. Whether we can ever compete with the likes of them, time will tell. But them, Brighton, Fulham and the like have to be the aim. One day maybe.

no, and its interesting on TV at Wembley, you dont appreaciate how big and strong Palace players are, and theyre incredibly physical as a team to play against, theyre hard to brake down

and I think City just fluffed it, they were trying too hard almost at everything, corners going too deep, snatching at chances etc etc, and not doing the simple things right, whilst Palace were very effective.

I saw someone on twitter say a Pep team would never score a goal like Palace did, because its just not their way, yet who ended up the winners right.

It's funny though how Palace suddenly look like us away from home once they're playing Man City.

It's typical of us that even the recovery may be a little too late. We have found proper infrastructure and investment just after the sweet point, and now the top 17 are moving away. Can only hope we somehow make it.

One thing with palace, they have a strong group of players but a few individuals that makes the team tick, I could be wrong but they have had next to no injuries all season especially of the big 3 players. We didn’t recruit well, but boy oh boy were our injuries horrific compared most other premier teams barring maybe Tottenham that also had a horrendous injury list.

If we make it back need to be in the market for players exactly like Sarr. Yes they’ve got to want to come but look at what you get for that price if you get it right.

When you look at Palace's team as a whole, you can see why we really struggled in the league this year.

They are a side who are normally between 8 - 16th give or take.

Their front three are leagues above anything we can put out, valued at £50m plus each! Add £30m sub striker on the bench too.
The next big English player in midfield, two rampant wingbacks with pace and can defend really well.
Three centre backs that have played for top clubs in Europe ahead of a very good goalie.

It says a lot when the teams just above are us MU and Spurs. Tough league, only getting tougher.

We actually played well for about 25 minutes in that game didn't we before they ruthlessly punished us and just turned it on?

Southampton got a draw against them a couple of weeks back and City were on the back of a terrible run when we played them in Jan. we folded like a pack of cards unfortunately

Palace, a better team than us.

We need players like Eze, a player who flopped as a youth player at a few clubs, most clubs let him go because he wasn't physically strong enough, and ended up outside the Prem with QPR. Like a lot of young men, he physically developed in his early 20s and then moved to CP for between £12m-£17m (depending on which report you believe)
There must be a few youngsters like Eze floating around the lower leagues, who are simply physically late developers.
