Weakest Championship in years, next season? 16:31 - May 24 with 1688 views | itfc_bucks | Of the clubs coming down, none of us made a dent on the EPL, and the current strongest of the three are likely to be hit with a points sanction. Southampton have been utterly hopeless. We've been one dimensional, but injuries played a huge part in that. None of the PO sides look up to much. Lots of dross in the bottom half of the league. Birmingham look useful, but can't see Wrexham doing much more than Plymouth did. If we sort our sht out early in the summer, we've got a pretty decent shot at promotion. Win tomorrow would help the summer hang over...

I'd say Leeds and Burnley look better than what's coming down, as we all stand.
Weakest Championship in years, next season? on 16:51 - May 24 with 1483 views | SitfcB | Going to be a lot stronger next season than this season. The three relegated sides. Birmingham and Wrexham going to play a big part. Coventry look good under Lampard. Sunderland have been there or thereabouts for a few years/Sheff Utd speak for themselves. A few others normally push on as well.

Weakest Championship in years, next season? on 16:54 - May 24 with 1441 views | J2BLUE | Southampton will replace a few and be very strong. So will Leicester. So will we. Birmingham destroyed league one and will spend. Several other teams always around top 6. No different to any other season really.

I don’t think they’ll spend big though - B’ham copied us in buying big in League One where the restrictions are more lenient. Like us they’ll have feel good and momentum behind them though… Big step up for Wrexham though still a lot of lower league squad fillers in there, can’t see them challenging for a couple of years. Even then they have the spending restrictions which make it hard to challenge the parachute clubs. Looking forward to it. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I just hope we don;t get Wrexham (a) as our first fixture.

Wrexham have a commercial income that matches a number of PL clubs, they will have quite a lot of flexibility finance wise due to that alone.

They also have a League One squad with journeyman in there, they may well lose and sign a lot but nothing is guaranteed Parkinson is a bit of a League One specialist, it will be interesting to see if finally steps up to the Championship

Birmingham's spending in League One was on a different level to ours, £8m for Jay Stansfield alone. Think they plan to go again in the Championship and will be there or there abouts.

I remember a lot of champ clubs saying that about us when we got promoted from L1. Carrying over that consistency and stability from L1 went a long way for us so I'm not writing them off for now
Weakest Championship in years, next season? on 07:11 - May 25 with 289 views | franz_tyson | Expectation levels are going to be a problem. So many are calling the Championship weak and assuming a relegated side (but not Luton) will be top 2 or 3. Since Christmas we haven't improved and we've got to get back in the habit of winning games. Not sure that's going to be instantaneous. I'll take top six. I worry if we don't hit the ground running in August and September, it could turn a bit toxic.

They look better because they aren't playing Prem teams.

Weakest Championship in years, next season? on 07:37 - May 25 with 227 views | Nutkins_Return | Honestly have the opposite view. Much stronger than this year's champ. Wrexham will spend heavy and if they get it right will be top 10 but no guarantee buying lots of new players. Birmingham strongest team ever coming up from league one statistically and will try to do an 'us'. Leicester, us and Southampton is stronger than Luton, Burnley, Sheffield Utd.

Leicester with probably a significant points deduction I suppose. But yes definitely looks stronger than last year to me.

Yes that's the saving grace regarding Leicester but until it's listed as a negative on the table I'm not taking anything for granted. I still think if it's -12 they will back themselves to make the playoffs. It would only require 80 points based on last year for example.

Yep -12 and they’ll probably be in the top 6, as should any relegated club.
