Kevin Lisbie talking about Kene on 'Under the Cosh' on 20:57 - Jun 3 by Swailsey
Yeah I really liked Stead. Got a great goal on his debut. I remember his signing being a strange one - he was loaned for about 4 days then signed.
Stead was always good for the occasional spectacular goal. Unfortunately just not so good at regularly scoring tap-ins.
I always thought there was a player in Priskin too. I remember the highlights reel from before he signed. I just think we played completely the wrong style for him.
As if we needed more evidence that Keane is an arsehole. Our worst manager for me. Not the most incompetent, but when you factor in what a c*** he was, he takes the crown.

An outstanding moment, top 10 surely, of the banter era!
Keano was furious as Thatcher was on a final warning and if he'd been late again then he could have sacked him. He was rubbing his hands and then they started hearing a whirring coming towards the training ground.

Dont recall that story at all Phil but can literally visualise RK thinking he'd got his man until....

By half decent I assume you mean he was 50% of an actual player
Lisbie scored 17 goals in the Championship for Colchester in 2007-2008, when they finished bottom . That's about half as many as Counago, Walters and Lee got between them that season, with nothing like the support, (and considerably more than any oneplayer got in the Championship last time out.) He was certainly a Championship level player when he joined. Was Lisbie bad for Town? -probably. But nothing like to the extent that Town was bad for Lisbie.

Indeed. He looked good under Jim and was super fast. Wasn’t a world beater, but was a more than decent striker for us when played to his strengths.

Lisbie only ever had one miracle season. The one with Colchester just before we signed him.
A classic one season wonder who'd never scored many goals. Not bad as a "sit on the last defender's shoulder" type of goal poacher, but near irrelevant in most of the home games. He did OK in League 1 afterwards, which was his level, but we signed many worse strikers over that period.
