Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens 18:03 - Jun 6 with 2822 views | bluesbrothers | I think Frank goes but the Cochrane steps up. If McKenna does end up at Brentford, what's your shortlist? Cochrane, Rohl, Barry would all likely be on the list. Can't think of many "established" managers that I'd want.
Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens on 18:08 - Jun 6 with 2155 views | Swansea_Blue | No Pauls please, otherwise I’m easy. I don’t think Kieran’s going anywhere any time soon though, but never say never in this game.

Frank and the recruitment team have done wonders with a very modest wage bill, big boots to fill! Like the sound of Barry.

He would have had a decent wage cut off the back of relegation

Let's wait and see with a busy summer ahead I'm not sure I want a novice with absolute no managerial experience. When McKenna came in we was in league 1. The expectation this season is so much higher with it comes a lot of pressure. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Thought I'd accounted for that but I didn't appreciate Frank earns as much as he does - one area where Brentford haven't been frugal it looks like.

Would rather Barry or Cochrane than someone like Steve Cooper. They have very relevant experience. As I say, can't think of many with experience that I'd be pleased about.
Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens on 18:31 - Jun 6 with 1852 views | burnbudgiesburn | I'd be up for Rosenior rather than promoting another total novice - likely that we don't find that lightning in a bottle twice in a row. I know some think he underperformed given Hulls squad but he plays nice football, and probably due to the year he spent here as a player he always has nice things to say about us.

Out of interest, using a relevant but impossible example - would you favour someone like Manning over someone like Barry or Cochrane purely because he's been a manager for a few years?
Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens on 18:37 - Jun 6 with 1763 views | tetchris | Gary O’Neil will probably be considered as he fits Ashtons mould of a young upcoming manager. He did quite well at Wolves but then got shafted by the playe. It’s always been seen as quite a good job as managers are usually given time. It will be even more attractive due to financial backing and new training facilities being built

I think so You would have to be very lucky to pull a rabbit out of the hat two times in a row with complete novices. The new guy would be coming into a totally different ITFC than McKenna found in L1 with more pressure I'd rather another novice coach with something to prove than the likes of Steve Cooper though.

Doesn't Rohl have a ridiculous buy out clause?
Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens on 18:43 - Jun 6 with 1694 views | le2blue | I'd maybe have Rohl slightly ahead of Cochrane, then Barry, and I suspect Carrick as well. Carrick's underlying data was good... he overperformed with the players that he had, but suffered from some poor recruitment over the last year.

Rumour was £5m for him, and then £5m for his staff, IIRC.

Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens on 18:46 - Jun 6 with 1632 views | EuanTown | Cochrane will go with frank. Rohl possibly. Barry Ferguson, no way. Rosenior is Europa league qualification so doubt it. Carrick not as good as Kieran would not get us promoted. Mid table football.

Cochraine was hired by the club not Frank, his pathway is to the Head Coach role, part of their succession planning....heard, from an agent very close to the situation ;)

It’s not worked out too badly with our current guinea pig. Much better than our older managers who’d been on the manager merry-go-round. Cuesta’s already got 11 years coaching experience at assistant level or above. In terms of profile, he’s another Kieran or similar early student of the game (see also Will Still, Brendan Rogers). I could certainly see us being interested (but I’ve no idea whether he’d fit).
