Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens 18:03 - Jun 6 with 5020 views | bluesbrothers | I think Frank goes but the Cochrane steps up. If McKenna does end up at Brentford, what's your shortlist? Cochrane, Rohl, Barry would all likely be on the list. Can't think of many "established" managers that I'd want.

Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens on 18:40 - Jun 6 by burnbudgiesburn | I think so You would have to be very lucky to pull a rabbit out of the hat two times in a row with complete novices. The new guy would be coming into a totally different ITFC than McKenna found in L1 with more pressure I'd rather another novice coach with something to prove than the likes of Steve Cooper though. |
I don’t think most in the football world saw it as as big a risk as your implying, or as surprising as your implying, that he’s been a huge success. Likewise they wouldn’t with Cochrane or Barry. As another poster said - been told it’s 99% likely Cochrane steps up if Frank goes. If he’s good enough for them he’s certainly good enough for us… even if you haven’t heard much about him

There’s something a bit dour about Carrick and his teams. I’d go for Rohl. He’s worked wonders at Wednesday with that shtshow of an owner. But I doubt he will go to Spurs, Brentford or Fulham.

Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens on 19:00 - Jun 6 by Swansea_Blue | It’s not worked out too badly with our current guinea pig. Much better than our older managers who’d been on the manager merry-go-round. Cuesta’s already got 11 years coaching experience at assistant level or above. In terms of profile, he’s another Kieran or similar early student of the game (see also Will Still, Brendan Rogers). I could certainly see us being interested (but I’ve no idea whether he’d fit). |
How much does he weigh I can tell you if he fits. McKenna came in at league 1 level Still verdict still out. Let's wait and see

Did well with Derby and now backed it up with Coventry. I'd say he has done better than Carrick so if people consider Carrick to be an option, fat Frank also has to be one

Cochrane is a very close friend of Kieran McKenna.

Rosenior has just signed a new deal at Strasbourg, has them playing European football next season and is now part of the ‘BlueCo group’. He’d be mad to leave them to come manage us.

I think you underestimate the pull of managing in England, especially with the prospect of the PL beckoning.

Might only be 29, but the experience he has from some top level clubs at his age is ridiculous. I imagine wherever he went there would be an experienced assistant go alongside him - like Pert coming in with McKenna.

Lampard??? Dear god no. We went through all that with Keane. He did ok at ‘Frank Lampard’s Coventry’ tbf, but still lost the play offs and has got nowhere just about everywhere else. This is the wrong type of club for him and the last thing we need is a ‘big name’ any more than Plymouth benefitted from one in the Rooneymeister. I never understand why people get so misty eyed over big name ex-players.
Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens on 12:01 - Jun 7 with 370 views | portmanking | From what I'm hearing, it's not Thomas Frank for Spurs. Owners think he's too pragmatic/direct. Their #1 target is Marco Silva.

Manager Shortlist IF the worst happens on 12:41 - Jun 7 with 286 views | tractorshark | I don’t see Brentford going for McKenna if Frank goes. Their model suggests recruitment from abroad or in house. Likewise Bournemouth with Iraola. However, he probably would be on the radar of Fulham and Palace if one of those managers leave.

Wasn't Lampard interviewed for the job a few years back.? Seem to remember he wasn't interested for lack of financial backing.
