Well, rock bottom of the old division 1 (should have been an omen). Had recently endured the longest winless streak in the club's history and beaten 10 - 1 by Fulham on Boxing Day. It was the ill-fated year when Jackie Milburn was manager. It's great how Ipswich and Newcastle have this special connection through Bobby Robson but nobody ever seems to bring up the Jackie Milburn connection, no celebratory merchandise that I have seen! | | | |
