Chansiri’s bin fire continues to rage unabated.

And the EFL pass him as fit and proper ten days ago…….

"Non-payment of Player wages in March 2025 and May 2025"...why did they pay April's when they hadn't paid March's?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I can’t find anything to back this up - but I’m pretty sure that I read somewhere that if an EFL club is late in paying its staff on time for so many months. The club in question will face a points deduction penalty or their players can hand in their notice and can leave on a free transfer with no compensation due.

As I said, I can’t find anything to back this up but I’m sure I have read it somewhere.

Yep. 2 months non-payment of wages in 12 month period means players can hand in notice and I assume walk

No transfer or loan fees until 2027 👀

My best guess would be that April's wages were paid on time, and the March/May wages are either still outstanding, or got paid late.

I do remember something similar at Bury when they went bankrupt.
The players were free to leave as their contracts were with a club that effectively no longer existed.

Like you, I'm not 100% sure and I might have confused all this with something else.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Would that also apply to managerial staff...?

My point was why pay April's rather than March's? Surely you pay the most outstanding one first?

You're applying logic to the running of Sheffield Wednesday.

It was that March and May wages were paid late not that they weren't paid at all.

Cheers, I misunderstood the article then. I read "non-payment" as not paid.

Presumably the bar for ‘fit and proper’ is so low that Jay Tabb could walk under it? Seems crackers. If the club/owner are facing multiple breaches of regs, which would have been known about 10 days ago, that should prevent them passing the test? It sounds crazy to pass him.

Edit- I don’t know why he’d be facing an owner’s test now either. That sounds strange, he’s been there ages. I see he’s trying to get rid and there are some bids floating around.
