It's all a bit 'wallpaper' isn't it?

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Very overrated. Certainly undeserving of the slot they were given.

Waste of a Pyramid headline slot.

Should be way down the batting order.

My daughter, very much not a bore, likes them and has played me a few of their tunes in the past. I was as impressed then as I'm now. Not a lot.

The Sax player is good, I will give them that.

Apologies, it was a tad harsh and didn’t mean to offend. I’ll remove the comment.

No, No, No.

Reply was meant in jest as well. Both me and my daughter have thicker skins than that!

I should add my daughter is 26 (how the fu*k did that happen) not a kid.

Not my cup of tea, but the Guardian gives them a glowing review.

A band that inspire genuine hate in me.

They clearly appeal to a large audience, so they are doing something right, but I'd rather listen to almost anything else.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

It's like he was reviewing something completely different to what I saw.

I wss not familiar woth their work. Saw the first song. Turned off. Tried again later, much the same. Insipid slightly breathy middle of the road poppy noise. Even the usually gushing bbc described it as 'safe'.

I suppose the funny thing these days is that every review I see for every artist is a four or five star review (out of five). Maybe they are no longer critics but instead fans.

Or more likely to have been written by a PR team and provided to the media with a fee. It’s like those “Top 20 Restaurants in Suffolk” articles/books you see. Nobody is there on merit, you just have to pay to be in it.

Caught some of their set and thought it was absolute sh1te tbh. Felt so contrived, front man looked like an actor playing a front man rather than being one. Right out of a play book, staggering about pretending to be drunk, smoking his fags.

Only thing I did wonder is whether it was designed to be ironic, maybe it was some sort of trolling that went over my head.

Clever bit of scheduling. They need a wallpaper band for one of the nights should Coldplay not be available.

Gives them a bit of license to then add someone like SZA or Olivia Rodrigo to mix it up a bit without a complete meltdown.

Anyway, if they're watching the headliners, they're doing Glastonbury wrong.

Agree about the sax player, don't hear it so much these days. As for 1975 very vanilla poor quality 80's style music but with no innovation. Just bland. But then I find Ed bland. I question myself; surely all these millions of fans can't be wrong, but I just don't get it. I find the classic rock of the 70s and 80s so much more vibrant and interesting. The whole spectrum; punk, Southern rock, metal, heavy rock, classic rock, electronic stuff.

They started out as a band called - Drive Like I Do, they were not great then.

Basically, they have a massive time agent and management and they were both likely bored one day or sat in a pub and decided to do work and this is what they ended up with in the morning.

If anyone remembers a band called Viva Brother, same thing applied, both terrible but the industry wanted to play bands that day and they had brief success, they really were bad,it was an industry joke.
