Watching England U21s last night makes me realise that Alex Scott and Eliott Anderson are exactly the kind of players that we need. They were superb last night. In fact our levels went down a lot when Scott went off. Morton did ok in his own right, but didnt have Scott's fitness levels. So I expect we will have a couple of those players in mind. Stats these days are big in football and I think we may get a known player and then one out of the depths of English footy.

I agree with what we need. But that's the point, they both went to premier league clubs for 25 million and 35 million respectively. It's finding the right talent at the right stage of their journey to be the right fit and want to come here for their career. It's so hard, and another reason why we haven't just hoovered up whatever is on offer early doors just to tick boxes.
Sean Dyche said last week being interviewed that if DCL could ONE day get his head right he’d be THAT player again but the way he said it seemed very unlikely he could get it sorted. What he meant by it I’m normally sure but seemed to be referring to his “ongoing” injuries. Suggested a lot of players will play through an element of pain ….and others won’t

No chance and no thanks

I think he might just scrape a club towards the end of the window for a salary much less than he wants. Past his best.

Sadly I think it will be one out, Omari and the start of several in. Seeing as Omari apparently will be on his hols it may be a couple of weeks before he departs. But as MA alluded to and seeing as O'Shea has signed a new contract the one out will be Omari. Not that I want him to go, but his displays for the Under 21's I believe make it inevitable. I do know the deal for Delap was good in the respect that he went before the 30th as that in effect means the deal falls into last year's accounts and fair play rules and all that. According to MA we will be looking at a different type of player. One's that presumably have more physical attributes. Which is why I question why we bought Philogene when we needed more physicality in midfield. But then it could have been the fact that they thought Omari would be on his way and that Philogene would be a replacement. Not directly maybe, but of similar attributes.

We need to find and develop the next Anderson, Alex Scott, Harvey Elliott, Scott Wharton, etc as we are in no position to sign the likes of them once they are as good as they are now.

Yes. That is what I have said in the last sentence. Read again.
