Omari release clause expires on Tuesday 08:41 - Jul 15 with 5956 views | itfcjoe | Presumably this is next Tuesday as reported in Athletic today. Also says Brentford fell significantly short of it and a deal is unlikely at present Brentford made an approach to Ipswich Town on Monday for Omari Hutchinson, although a deal is felt to be unlikely at present. Hutchinson is on holiday after being given extended time off by Ipswich following England’s triumphant Euro Under-21 campaign at the end of June. Brentford see the 21-year-old among a small number of potential replacements for Bryan Mbeumo should he join Manchester United. Hutchinson has a relegation release clause worth £35million, which Brentford fell significantly short of meeting. That expires on Tuesday and so far he remains an Ipswich player. Omari release clause expires on Tuesday on 10:01 - Jul 15 by ElderGrizzly | Delap's Chelsea Move Confirmed 4th Jun 2025 21:03Blues striker Liam Delap’s £30 million move to Chelsea has been confirmed, the frontman having signed a six-year deal. 50 "We understand Town will receive £20 million of the £30 million fee - a new club record - up front, while Delap’s former club Manchester City are due 20 per cent of the profit the Blues made on the sum they paid following the England U21 international’s move last summer. That figure, which was initially £15 million, is understood to have nudged to around the £18 million mark with add-ons triggered over the course of the season. Town in turn will get a percentage of a future Chelsea sale." |
I assume we’d still have to give Man City 20% of this under the original profit clause?

Omari release clause expires on Tuesday on 08:57 - Jul 15 by keanekipper | i hope this is accurate and we get through today. Would put us in hell of a position to get a maximum value for a player whos stock will have gone up massively after the u21 euros. 45MIL plus 15 of add ons and sell on or too hopeful... |
Not a chance. His stock is where it is and currently no club it seems has met the £35 million by the deadline. So he is therefore most likely valued less than that in the market by definition (unless clubs didn't realise which is unlikely or just can't do it until they sell). I think it slightly reduces the chances he goes but if he really pushes then I could see him going for £30 mil or a bit under with add ons. I thought he was good in the U21s and enjoyed watching him. He didn't set it alight or anything. Was a bit up and down (partly because of how hot it was). I honestly think another season in he champ will be brilliant for him but I think he is very ambitious and probably wants it now.

When you look at the likes of eze and johnson in the prem imo hutch didn't really get anywhere near their levels last season and for me if a club is gonna pay what town want they really are paying for potential over current ability. With delap. The simple fact was he could score goals. He just needed better players around him to do it next season in the prem. Hutch.. in the prem this season would you get a 35 mill player... I don't think so. He should stick us. Stick with the man who's grown him as a player and get us up again and then give the prem another go with a better equipped prem town side.

You’re missing the point that with a release clause in place, once triggered the buying club normally has to pay the entire figure up front - or might be able to negotiate a compromise ala Delap, but even then there is a significant upfront cost, and likely a sizeable downside in the future, for the buying club. Most clubs favour paying equal amounts in instalments over numerous years. It’s easier to buy at (say) £9-12M / year, than add £35M to your negative balance on day 1.
