So many high-earners who want to leave, but few seem in a rush to hire and then this? They seem like they're in deep trouble.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Given their complete lack of self awareness I am waiting for them to cry about the world club cup skewing finances.

It's amazing how what was (or maybe still is?) the highest valued club in the World is reduced to scraping the barrel like this for PSR compliance.

Some would also say karma, given these rules were brought in to try and protect the big 4 and stop any clubs trying to break into their little club.

I wonder whether it might be cheaper to sack Amorin and try to reintegrate the wantaways? Perhaps such a thing could even suit Amorin?

Probably wishes he'd stayed at Sporting.

The club has also said the reality of Profit and Sustainability rules (PSR) means there is a renewed approach to getting fees for players who they don't believe will play for the first-team.

Hi, would you like to pay a sizeable fee for this lad who won't make our first team, even though we had our worst finish in 50 years, just to help us out on PSR?

Er, not thanks.

Didn't Newcastle and Villa effectively do something similar last summer with a few players between them?

Also, wouldn't they be better off trying to shift Rashford, Garnacho, Malacia etc?

They’ve been trying to shift them all Summer but for some reason Amorim/the club decided the best way to do that was publicly remove them from the squad and force them to train separately etc, because obviously that really helps strengthen their hand when negotiating the sale do said players!

Garnacho is one of the last decent flair players they have. They must be desperate for funds to try and sell him.

While also complaining about too many matches and organising a tournament in the far east.

Think it's more to do with his attitude and general behavior, I'm with you, find it odd they want rid of him.

One must be careful not revel too hard in the troubles of other clubs, there but for the grace of God and all that

But.... its brilliant isnt it. Those of an age similar to mine where the playground was dominated by Man U fans despite being nowhere near Manchester, year after year of Fergie time and Utd love ins.

Gone from, we have some untouchables, to the whole squad is for sale, to the whole squad plus the youth team is for sale.

Glory, glory Man Utd.

I think they've been ostracised as they've put in transfer requests. Rashford seems to think Barcelona will want him. Can't see that happening somehow!

Since Sir Alex left the club has blundered from one crisis to another. They have overpaid for players both from a purchase point of view and wages wise.
No player whoever he is, is worth half a million a week.
The whole Premier League thing is overrated, hyped by television companies and basically run by them. Determining match times even when transport links and timing have an adverse effect on people's lives.
Ruined by VAR cost a fortune to install along with all the bally ho that goes with it.
Despite all that fans are still happy to shell out their hard earned even though many games have little appeal.
I decided way back that if I want to watch Town and they are on tv I will go to my local. Have a chat with people, watch the match whilst having a couple of pints.

They accepted an offer from Saudi apparently and he wasn't interested

This is a non-story and very common in football. United are actively trying to sell players they have identified wont make the grade rather than letting them go for free. That's not to say there aren't football league quality players in there, so some clubs may be interested.

There's about a million things to laugh at with Man Utd, this isn't one imo.

Sancho arrived there as one of the best prospects on the planet and they turned him into an above average winger who they cannot shift. The same to a lesser extent with Antony who they turned into a bang average winger. Well done on that! Garnacho is surely worth keeping though.

Why wouldn't they? He is clearly a top player who was frozen out at a basket case of a club. His time at Villa shows he is still a very good player. I can't imagine Barcelona are even remotely like the current Man Utd set up.

I'll have a £50 charity bet with you that Rashford wont be wearing a Barcelona shirt next season. Unless he buys one from Sports Direct.

They were referred to as the bomb squad yesterday in the national media!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cp86p606gvko

'On 4 July, United made it known that the five unwanted players had asked to leave and would not train with the remainder of Amorim's squad. Rashford's number 10 shirt was given to Cunha.

Since their exile, the only significant development involving the quintet was news that they cannot access United's Carrington training ground - which they can enter for rehabilitation and medical purposes - until Amorim and his squad have left for the day.

The members of the so-called 'bomb squad', a reference to their being bombed out, can train together at Carrington if they wish and combine that with work away from the complex, which is the final stages of a multi-million pound upgrade. But, as far as Amorim is concerned, they are done.'
