I'd hate that to be the case for football, where people are continually getting in the way of the game. Surely we're all capable of going 45 minutes without a beer?

It’s bad enough when some twot starts puffing on his robot dick and spraying fruity vapours all about, let alone the massive cocaine problem in football. They’ll never add drinking into the mix will they? I’m always amazed how many people shuffle out early to get a terrible pint for stupid money / miss kick offs etc either half for the privilege too.

Way worse than any of that is people at matches too busy betting on their phones than watching the game. I think I've posted before about a group in front of me that spend the entire game betting.

Just add the weed and we will all be happy regardless of the football on offer. Win lose or draw nobody cares.

Last thing we need is these muppets drinking during the game as well… Will no doubt be fine in the WSL, not for the mens game.

I'd have no issues but for the fun police maybe there could be dry stand? Added bonus they all get to tut in unison.

same here in Canada where our local team (Hamilton) plays in the CFL - it was very family friendly (fine) but just the level of toing and froing for beer / churros / nachos etc - it was incredibly distracting (and I say this as someone who sits in the middle of a row, upper north who at times has been in agony to make halftime to wee out the X pints drunk beforehand) just sit down and stop faffing about, it's only 45 minutes a half

Never really felt the need to drink during a game or even half-time. A burger or pie to soak up the booze was always welcome though. Last time I went to PR, it was Greene King all round too so that put me off as well.

Why is it suddenly going to change the people that go to games? Especially where tickets are tight. In and outdated ground like Portman Road surely it will make the HT rush way better and manageable if people can grab a beer whenever they want one. It seems old fashioned to not be able to drink in view of the pitch tbh.

I'd like it for home games. Away games less so - 90min break from it is sometimes a good thing!

Completely different culture and set up obviously but some college games over here had alcohol bans for inside sales if the stadium was on Campus. The LSU games I used to go to years ago meant that everyone got so messed up outside because they knew they had 3 hours without a drink, ha. They have scrapped that now and you can purchase inside as well all over the country for college games. I think because they dealt with so many people fully loaded entering the stadium. I guess it might not work so well in England because not everyone is used to it, so people would just probably keep going back and forth instead of pacing themselves. That could be annoying. When you go in Europe though people just bring a beer to their seats for the first half and don't go back and forth during the 45 minutes. Implementing any new policies involving alcohol in the UK has it's challenges! [Post edited 24 Jul 16:47]
