1- Doctors have been shafted over many years and earn massively less than they used to. They cannot, save for going to private work, swap employers.
2- That said, the same can be said for many many other public sector positions, which have not got the leverage to have achieved the big rise they recently have which has mitigated their position somewhat.

I appreciate your concern and perhaps I was unusual, but I only called on them once in 35 years and they were f...g pointless.
Ironically, when later I was made redundant and being offered really good terms they were all over it like a rash even though I did not need the c...ts.
I've only had bad experiences from my unions. Arrogant gits.
But I accept that some of them may mean well, but they have just been useless when needed in my experience.
