Indeed, what determination and a winning mentality, literally putting her body on the line for the team.

I once played pub league pool with a splinter in my thumb, so I can relate.

In Aberdeen on Friday I was using a pedestrian crossing by Canal Drive and noticed that some wit had, with what looked like a fair degree of work on a metal sign, eradicated the 'C'.

Tongue in cheek remark ?

And before anyone accuses us of childish behaviour I would like to point out that in the Colin Moulding's guide to Swindon booklet that accompanied the second XTC album he had a photo of the sign for the Public Library where a carefully aimed stone had taken out the 'L' in the first word. Someone had reproduced that photo and included it as thousands of inserts that were put into LP sleeves and sold around the World.

taken out the 'b'?

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

I guess there are differing degrees of fracture because I am sure it wouldn't be possible with most and I presume medical professionals will have assessed the risks involved with continuing to play with a minor one.

As for the rest of the thread Bungay Swimming Pool had a sign where someone had removed the second m, the g and the final letter.

sure i remember kieron dyer scoring a goal after breaking a leg, but this was minutes after, rather than a whole tournament!

must have been a hairline fracture to be possible, but still would have been incredibly painful, massive effort of will to carry on for as long as she managed
