Never understood this championship super team talk that people have been talking about. Our attack is no where near and RW spot needs seriously upgrading because this idea that Burns and Ogbene being promotion quality is laughable with the injuries they have come back from.
I made a post saying this has been slow transfer window and I fear this is seriously costing us now as we need a at least 3/4 signings and our reluctance to look at other targets and just waiting for our 1st choice looks more and more risky by the day.

Explain why Ogbene looks like he's running through treacle then? For a so called speed merchant, he's not able to use his pace at all.

Everyone kept saying we’ve got a ‘stacked attack’ but we don’t at all.
Philogene and Clarke have looked underwhelming since they’ve joined
Akpom = unknown as hasn’t set world alight since leaving boro - Szmodics - injured last year and Chaplin I think deserves more of a chance
Burns and ogbene - I seriously don’t think either of these would get in any top 4 side
Hutchinson and broadhead are most technical players are leaving
Hirst is all we have got up front
In midfield we’re seriously lacking
Defence and goalkeeping is the only place I’d say we’re ok and even then we’re a LB

Philogene will be good in this division. What's the point of demanding signings and then writing them off before they play? Chaplin is getting a chance. Ogbene is a beast and with pace but obviously rusty at the moment. We have Hirst, Szmodics, Akpom, up front, maybe a loan. Midfield is evolving.
Clarke is disappointing, I'd hoped he would've beefed up over the summer and obviously it's hard to tell how players come back after big injuries, but I'm generally happy with this squad. | |

Seems to remember late December to February was very hit and miss that year. My point being, 120 minutes of competitive football is hardly the time to sound the death knell.

Our problem is in midfield. And McKenna's insistence on only ever playing two midfielders.
We are over run in games giving our defence poor protection and our frontline zero balls to feed off.
Tonight also showed (IHMO) Al-Hamadi isn't strong enough ( he needs 5-6 touches to get his shot off, if he even does at all), and Jack Clarke is either being asked to play a role hes not suited to (nothing unusual from mckenna there) or is simply too lightweight. He constantly loses the ball, always plays with his head down and simply isn't strong enough for the first team.

KM just hasn’t yet deciphered the numerous ‘cheat codes’ we’ve been assured we have this season and we know we don’t compete well with big physical running machines.
Bromley just did their homework and fielded their big, bad reserves who wouldn’t be technically good enough to start against Barnet or Harrogate but would have no problem bullying our expensively assembled starting 11.
Is that now one win in 21 competitive fixtures? |  |

Yes, Ashton has a busy few weeks, but he's not the one going around telling everyone we've got the best squad in the division and we can only buy PL ready players. I've heard this cr@p so often. We won 4 games last season and many think it's a piece of p1ss that we can transition into a side that can, say, win 28 games a season and get auto promotion.
I'm also hearing more and more how we're a 'parachute' team as if it's a medal of honour and we earnt the right to swagger around. We got relegated and were sh1te.... we earnt nothing.
It's not bed-wetting to say we're not as good as some think we are and we might have to earn the right to be up there. Hate this arrogance I see from some just because we spent a season in the PL ( even though we were very poor). | | | |

Agreed.
Experience says we might be here a long time which should be a wake up for anyone thinking this will be easy, however more recent experience says we’ve got different people leading the club and coaching these days. They have a recently proven process for managing squad changes in and out, getting things settled down quickly, finding ways to play that are visually pleasing with a new group, and earning points by winning lots of games of football.

People say bad things about Burns, but I think he's exactly what we miss right now. Has the ability to hug the touchline and make runs that can break a defence.
