WOW - Sindre Walle Egeli - 19 year old Norwegian striker… on 00:15 - Aug 17 by Sharkey | If it happens, that's HUGE money for Nordsjaelland, who have attendances about the same as Colchester's. |
They have some serious talent there, so hopefully we’ve taken a good look at a few others as well … at what would cost a fraction of the price as players here do.

That's what you get when you build bridges.

WOW - Sindre Walle Egeli - 19 year old Norwegian striker… on 21:38 - Aug 16 by _clive_baker_ | Makes me laugh when people dub young players ‘the next *insert generational talent*’. There’s a part of me that thinks if he’s the next Haaland and available for this sort of money why the feck would he come to us? Surely a premier league club has a punt? Not disputing he might be talented and an exciting addition btw, very much hope he is. Would sit outside the 25 man squad too which might allow us to sign someone more proven to take the weight off his shoulders a bit. Get this lad, someone like Phillip Billing and a Rak-Sakyi type and we would look much stronger. |
I think that is the word of caution here, why aren’t PL clubs in for him if he’s as good as his reputation suggests? There are no secrets in football anymore and clubs don’t think twice about spending £20m on someone. So there is obviously a reason and an element of risk at that fee. But it’s exciting if we’ve got ahead of the curve and are willing to back our judgement on him being a success.

The whole of Europe has been having a good look at this boy. There are definitely rough edges to him but make no mistake, it's a heck of a coup if we can pull it off. I guess the pitch we can make, and it's a very good one, is: come and spend a couple of years with us, look what we did with Delap and Omari.

Bit of perspective needed

I guess also as well he's probably not ready to move to a Prem side and contribute right away so would likely be loaned out or playing PL2 for a season, whereas if he comes here he'll get a decent amount of minutes to aid his development and, hopefully, be Prem ready in a year's time.
