I like what I’ve seen in terms of work rate from Philogene 13:22 - Aug 17 with 1346 viewstextbackup

He’s battled and won 3/4/5 balls that I didn’t have him down for.

And lovely quick feet. Recovers quickly to receive the ball again.

Just needs a goal or an assist and he will believe that he is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Few things he’s done, attacking, where you go ‘yeah he’s a cut above’

But (as with Omari when he started) you want to see that battling. And he’s really stepped up in that regard today.

Definitely. I’ve been surprised by his tackling today. First touch is unreal too.

Smod looking a cut-above too, great link-up with Hirst.

Clarke is just so frustrating though, like a mascot at times.

He's always had stats to back this up. Very similar profile to Omari in terms of workrate, interceptions etc.

Got to remember he's just back from injury. There's no point flogging him and having him back on the treatment table.

He impressed me today and I’ve been quite critical of him previously.

It’s almost as if McK is a brilliant coach who has improved nearly every player he was worked with isn’t it?

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

It’s so true and was a bit disheartening to lose two of the major examples of that in one week, but there we go. In fact those two were very good players before they got to us. McK made them better though…

Backs into markers really well and protects the ball or gets a foul.

I’d have thought that was his best display for us - I’ve not noticed that level of high pressure before, but he recovered the ball a number of times in dangerous areas.

Still think his actual on the ball attacking output needs to improve but think that will come with game time/minutes.

I thought today was his best game in a Town shirt, since his arrival, by some margin. VERY encouraging...

Much improved. Appreciate it’s a different level but think he will do well this season.

He has tentacle-like feet when trying to win the ball back, reaches places others can't. Work to do but liked his performance overall.

Yes, a really promising start. Once he's up to full fitness should be a real threat.

You might be right. But I kind of take a good LD for granted!

Reckon he’s got a bit more responsibility on his plate this season. Leadership, etc. so his game may ‘only’ be a 6/7 out of 10

By the sounds of his interview he's joining that leadership group and looking to help greaves and philogene with their games. Which is great.
