Whats the issue with Cajuste knees? 15:35 - Aug 20 with 1819 views

I know last season we got him due to a failed medical elsewhere and I understand he was managing his fitness and knee injury.
I keep reading how he can't manage a full season due to his knees and how he can't play a full 90 or Sat - Tues - Sat schedule! What is this long term knee issue he has?
Is he a modern Paul McGrath/Ledley King and can't train but can play?

Is the knee issue long term and he'll always need to manage playing time?

This is mostly fake news / speculation (how often and long he'll be able to play).

Yes, he joined us with a know knee issue, and it needed to be managed. We seem to have managed it well.

Second half of last season, Cajuste was amongst the top minutes played across the squad, and he regularly played for most of the game. Often 75+ minutes (a couple for 90 as I recall) - and given McKenna switches things around on 65+ minutes, it's not really an issue.

IMO some people are making more of this than there is any evidence to support. There was an issue, we've managed it very well and will continue to do so.

the championship life thing is about the fact most of the teams we will face in this league will target him and try to kick lumps out of him take a booking for it and try to injure him out the game, which if its happening every Tuesday/Saturday does build up eventually to spells on the sidelines & injuries.

in the premiership he was given more space & time and most of the teams we played didnt resort to those style of tactics.

I did a thread on this when people kept saying he can't last 90 mins.

We have 5 players taken off, that's half the team that gets subbed. In the middle is probably the most energy used players.

He played a lot of games for us last season!

well exactly my point. You can pick holes in whatever you like.

I think the original purpose of the post was he "barely" made 60 mins, which as you can see is utter codswallop.

.The post was made on 19 March so I'm assuming he played games after that.

Feel free to do the research. EDIT: I've done it for you. started 7 games, sub for 2. He only signed on 19th August so probably wasn't here for say first 2 games.

SO he was a part of 31 out of 36? Not too bad?

This was my original point....we all know he came with a "handle with care" sticker - which we did. He performed for us.

Yet I see posts say we STILL have to manage his knees and he can't stand the rigours of the Championship or the Sat-Tues-Sat schedule.... -where are these concerns coming from?

Or are people putting 2+2 together and making whatever they want?

I suppose none of us know. But it was only May where Kzm referred to the management of his knee.. of course time had passed so he could be fine. But likewise he managed the issue all season didn't seem to have any form of surgery in the summer so you'd assume maybe wrongly that he have to manage his knee again this season.

Did you look at the list. It’s an old post, and only goes up to the middle of March. There were 9 games after that, and Cajuste played in all.

So no, that’s not another way of looking at it.

I suspect it another example of some people just wanting to put a negative spin on anything. There’s been too much of that recently.

The medical team must have signed off on bringing him back, and it clearly wasn’t the issues some make it out to have been last season.
