Lost interest and are pocketing the money before they sell up and disappear into the night as so far this window has been underwhelming and it feels like our soul has been ripped out.

No of course it don't it don't feel like John Duncan days either, but things don't feel right at the moment either I imagine others also get these vibes. Hope I'm wrong who thought the Norwegian lad was even a distinct possibility.

Vibes > facts.

The sad state of affairs with a nation now living and expecting/demanding instant gratification.

We have no divine right to get promotion.

As we proved 23/24 money doesn’t always do that with us gate crashing the money boys.

It simply gives us a better chance with better players available to us.

But it never happened.

You're suggesting it didn't happen because "the owners lost interest and are pocketing the money before they sell up"?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I know that you're not, but you sound just like one of the countless, desperate budgie trolls that seem to have been registering on here over the last few months.

Not for me Clive. Rare that any parachute club goes down and doesn't have at least 2 or 3 big players picked off it, I think Delap & Hutchinson were inevitable and neither were going to want to be playing Championship football this season.

Tuanzebe & Burgess we offered deals to, Broadhead wanted out to Wrexham. Morsy wanted a longer deal, and I think we were right not to do it tbh.

Cajuste, Matusiwa, Kipre, Akpom is £7m spent and a further £15m+ committed if we go up. We've tried to spend £20m on Hackney, linked with £17m on the Norwegian lad. I think there's enough evidence we want to spend, but rightly being cautious about where its spent.

The only thing that bugs me about Morsy is letting him go on a free when he still had a year left.

If the Kuwaiti's are able to pay him the silly money that's being reported, surely they wouldn't have baulked at even a token £500K ??

Try to understand the following:

1. We are favourites for the league.
2. We have a great manager and the nucleus of a strong squad.
3. We have a lot of cash available and a lot of PSR headroom...
4. ...therefore we are shopping in the lower Premier League/elite Championship/elitish foreign markets.
5. ...therefore we have to wait a little to pick up the right players as we've not at the top of the queue for them.
6. If we don't land those targets, we have better backups still available to us than pretty much the rest of the Championship (except maybe Southampton) can lay their hands on.
7. BE PATIENT and stop getting your knickers in a twist.

I read point 4 as fetishists foreign markets, must get out more.

See,I think some people need to take the rose tinted glasses off. We aren’t going up. We haven’t recruited like a team going up. Ashtons comments about being aggressive in the transfer market has become a damp squib. It’s why people are wetting the bed (as the same b@ll sacks need to keep saying). It’s been an awaful transfer market so far this summer however you like to dress it up.

Well with a post like that I don't believe that you are Ipswich supporter, to put it bluntly, and I'm not quite sure why you weren't already on my ignore list. You will be in a couple of seconds.

You don't think Cajuste, Matusiwa, Akpom, and Kipre are good signings? They are all, at the very least, top end Championship players and a couple of them should be able to step up to the Prem. If you feel that aren't good signings, who else has moved in this window that you think we should have signed instead?

I rest my case. Don’t like the truth. By the way, I’ve been a Town fan for 50 years. You were probably still in naps then. I’ve seen some great times. Including the last few years but I can also read into things quite well and I think people need to get a grip on reality. You certainly seem to need to.

"We aren't going up" is a brilliant grip on reality after two games (undefeated).

Where you here when an ageing Stephen Ward at LB was the standout signing? And that's with the greatest respect to Stephen Ward who had a good career.

That's a damp squib. Not this.

(Unlike many others on here at the moment! )

Cajuste was in a team that got relegated. He is fine, but don’t think he has the legs for a championship season. Akpom and Kipre are championship players, neither have played in the Prem. Decent, yes, but telling that no one had considered them for the PL. Kipre is only back up even now.Matusiwa isn’t going to rip it up it will take him most of the season to get to grips with the championship.

You've partly answered my question but I note you've swerved the bit asking who we should have signed instead. Based on your posting, I doubt you'd have accepted anything less than the likes of Eze and Sesko.

he wouldn't have accepted seko as he's never played in the prem.

he's glad to see the back of burgess, delap, hutch, broadhead etc as they were in a team relegated from the prem.
