Bit of empathy for KM 17:53 - Aug 25 with 1670 views | jasondozzell | High pressure job. Handsomely rewarded but it must be so demanding. No real time off in summer. No control over the vagaries of the transfer market. Having to integrate new players and build a new side under pressure from the off. Expectations sky high. Probably at their highest since he joined the club. He knows the deal but blimey it must be demanding. All that and a young family. I am absolutely convinced he will continue to do an excellent job and get us back up. Get behind him and support him.

I get this place has been a moanfest this weekend, but I’m baffled by all this Dunkirk spirit talk too.

There always will be, we are off the back of success again and it’s a massive away end full of all sorts. It’s not like they speak for us despite their belief they do. They’re the itfc equivalent of people who shout at hotels and paint roundabouts with wonky lines.

Yeah, agree. You're right. Just sticks in the craw sometimes when you consider how bloody awful it was for so long.

Was the right choice to play JC vs Preston. He did play badly though.

When you are good you get all the praise when you are poor you get what comes with it Ipswich fans have been quite tolerating last 8 months considering one league home win in over a year. And let a goal in for 24 consecutive games a record going back to the 1950s.

Bit of empathy for KM on 18:34 - Aug 25 with 1310 views | cobboldkid | Gave us some great memories but naive tactics taking on too many top class sides last year coupled with the signing of too many lightweight mercenaries cost us our place in the PL. Poor recruitment again over the summer with not much on the horizon will cost us. The non securing of Hladky's signature and his replacement started the downturn and it's been so disappointing to see the likes of Broadhead, Burgess and Tuanzebe leave. Fear that Woolfenden and Chaplin will leave if they are not played when they are so much better than what we've got. Hope the new mercenaries work but if not don't think he'll be here at Christmas.
Bit of empathy for KM on 18:39 - Aug 25 with 1279 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | He signed a 6M a year deal last summer and his home stadium is Portman Road. He'll be fine. It all comes with the territory, I am not sure what some of you guys have invented in your head, the fanbase is behind him. Of course, if bad results continue at this level for months on end (they won't) questions will be asked. I doubt he is looking through threads on a message board thinking the tide might be turning,. There was 4.5k fans travelled 10 hours round trip Saturday to back the team. Now, all that said, Ashton should be under pressure this week.

He can stand the heat because he is in the kitchen and isn’t showing any intention of leaving it. I don’t think having more of a salary makes the job easier either.

Bit of empathy for KM on 19:39 - Aug 25 with 938 views | Swansea_Blue | It never hurts to have empathy for anyone, not that there’s any reason why KM would need more of it now. It must be an incredibly difficult job. We know he works his balls off and is pretty much living the job and only wants the best for us. We can’t ask for any more than that. He’s also happens to be very good at the job. We’ve had enough rubbish over the last few decades to be able to see that. I don’t think KM is getting much stick, but as a general point we live in a society increasingly lacking empathy/understanding in some spheres (notably online). People have little patience and have easy channels to express their displeasure. And for some bizarre reason some people also think that managers and players should be targets for abuse because they earn shedloads. Football’s obscenely rich and corrupt, but the individuals in it are still human beings. They have good days and bad days, get ill and aren’t always on it, exactly the same as anyone else.

We are just days away from an Ashton statement. “Toughest window of my career, we’ll pivot to the January window and attack it with purpose and intent and give this club the oxygen it needs. Fans have to understand the market in which we’re operating now….”

We are down the road with a handful of January deals. We won't be here to make up the numbers.

Weird isn’t it. Where was all the sympathy when some of the board was actually being borderline bullies to: Douglas Mick Richards Hyam Jackson (early years) This place has been awful at times, but this is super, super tame. KMc is a manager who was wonderful for us for a season and a half - but he isn’t the second coming. He nearly left twice. I’m all for human kindness, and perhaps 2 posts have been over the line - but the reality is that KMc is in an extremely well paid job, and was caught pretty lacking last year. People are respectfully allowed to question this.

Fair, and I know some did. But a lot of the stuff was super cruel. I just don’t get the notion that KMc is untouchable!

Not sure it's fair to say KM caught lacking last year. Look at his interviews immediately after promotion. He know what we were facing. I thought we had a good go in first half of season. Proud we played our football. Inevitably it got harder as we went on. I can't see a league one side getting to this PL in two years and surviving ever.

He's not untouchable and he's still learning but what a coach. I can't recall ever seeing football as good as his apart from Burley years. He's the real deal I think.

I think that January window we had in League 1 has meant that whatever he do now has to be as good as that, we absolutely nailed 4 signings that window that transformed us as a team. You jest about it being a tough market & it’s a favourite line of Ashtons but there is genuinely some truth in it, we are in a group of about 10 teams all going hell for leather for the same players, unlike in the January 23 window when we just picked up who we wanted as the big fish in League 1. I’m not trying to stick up for Ashton by the way, our recruitment since promotion to the Prem seems to have dipped massively, he needs to get back to that 100% hit rate this week if we want to get back there.

You’ve forget the following - listen, I’ve got even more grey hairs - listen, I will not rest until I get this special football club where it should be - listen, I might sit down with a large drink tonight - listen… Side note, I fcking hate when anyway starts a sentence ‘listen’ like from a young age I wasn’t taught to respect when someone starts speaking to listen to their view point or instruction. I don’t need telling to LISTEN, you are speaking, I am listening.

100% hit rate is so tough to achieve, Generally speaking if you get 75% you are doing well. It does need a good end, I think in isolation our window so far hasn’t been too bad but because we haven’t got those big ticket deals over the line it looks worse it’s been a solid window squad wise but we need those starters coming now.
