I'm not surprised.

Sadly.

He's a quality ball playing CB.

For whatever reasons KM hasn't ever really trusted him.

Can hardly be blamed. He worked hard to get us up, was discarded for O'Shea, is seeing him hardly look secure throughout his time year yet has been rewarded the captaincy, which means he'll have even less of a chance now.

Credit to him for not picking up a sore throat. But I do have doubts about McKenna's man management skills.

Sensible.

Probably realises that he’s no worse than the two selected week in week out and probably concerned we let our best defender in Burgess walk away.

McKennas judgement must be questioned.

Still, we can’t let him go without a replacement.

I do remember many on here questioning if he was good enough and how he makes mistakes etc etc....fast forward to our sticky patch and he's suddenly good enough. He isn't and I make KM correct.

As sad as that is, he deserves to play regularly and we can't offer that. Added sentiment as he's a town boy through and through but we should all want the best for him and unfortunately that isn't with us. He will always be welcome back, just like the respect and support we have Kayden today when he came on

That was during the Lambert era, when he was young and playing on the wrong side. Since McKenna's come in he's been very reliable. Certainly never done something as catastrophic as O'Shea today... twice (soley for one, partly for the other).

How this has got down votes is beyond me. O'Shea stands out individually as the better player but as a partnership they are absolutely woeful. Big hole in the middle between them and neither covers the other.

I've never been Woolfendens biggest fan but he has proven himself consistently at every level we've played. He should be absolutely baffled that Greaves, in particular keeps getting picked ahead of him each week. It's obviously why Burgess left too.

To me, he's been reliable. To you, he's a liability. I have less faith in O'Shea and Greaves. You have more.

I guess football is a game of opinions.

He's decent and gets it. Surprised he's been turfed out. Not sure his average game is any worse than Greaves' average game.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

...apart from the two seasons he was an integral member of a promotion winning team and the season before those in which he was a fixture.

He can feel hard done by. As can Hladky (assuming he left because he knew he would be demoted) and Burgess. It would be easier to take if their replacements were improving us.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Putting aside whether it’s right or wrong him not being in the side, if he has ‘wanted to leave for some time’ then why on earth did he sign a new contract just 7 months ago? Baffling from him and his agent.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

Why did the club offer him a contract if he wanted out, as well? Why not sell him back then? It's very baffling.

I've said it before, but the only think that makes sense is he was happy to be a squad player at Premier League level, but thought he would be a starter if we went down, as O'Shea would move on. Instead it hasn't worked out that way. But it doesn't add up to "a while".

We wouldn't expect him to be prime Maldini. Competent would be enough for now.

I don’t really understand why we’ve not sold him and signed a replacement if he’s wanted to leave for a some time. There’s absolutely no point keeping players who don’t want to be here.
