I’d consider that a very good window. Might leave us a little short defensively but Kipre can cover both sides, and Furlong has played centrally as well albeit not too often. As disappointing as it will be to see Woolf move on I really don’t see the value in keeping anyone against their will. We need a squad of players who want to be here and are all bought in. I don’t blame Woolf FWIW, but get him sold and move on. If we can’t get anyone in until Jan then so be it.

Good point. I wouldn't be too worried if he left. I think Humphreys is pretty much the same level so if we can replace Taylor it would be good. Can't see it being a priority though. May well be wrong. | |

We’ve got 20 games until the next window and no cup. We’ve got Kipre to come in if either Greaves or O’Shea are out. In the unfortunate position we have 2 out then we’ve got Furlong as well who has played centrally.
Don’t get me wrong it’s not ideal, ideally we want 4 recognised central defenders rather than 3.5 and get some cover on loan tomorrow which wouldn’t surprise me, but it’s a question of the least worst option. For me there comes a point where you just let Woolf go. If he’s expressed his desire to leave afor a while it’s a bit ridiculous we’ve left ourselves in this position rather than addressing it earlier, but personally I’d just do it I think. | | | |

I don’t think Furlong can play centre half. McKenna certainly referred to him as a full back and put him in the same category as Young, Clarke & Johnson.
Additionally, Kipre seems to have played majority of his football on the left side of defence, so another reason we can’t allow Woolf to leave without a replacement, in my opinion.

Furlong has certainly played in the middle for WBA according to a Baggies mate of mine, albeit not a lot. It’s sub optimal for sure, and I do think KM will want cover, just saying I’d probably roll the dice even if we don’t personally just because we don’t need naysayers. Not questioning Woolfs commitment or application, I just don’t like the idea of carrying players when it’s been made public that they want out. I don’t think it’s healthy.
