Yep and people are whinging about this transfer window. Where we can afford to let players like Chaplin and Wolfie go.

I got irrationally annoyed at Jimmy Walker tweeting about West Ham results while we were dying death by a thousand cuts Free Phil Ham! That whole episode was disgraceful. There was also that bizarre interview with Brenner when Lambert went really funny. I don't think Lambert was a bad bloke (terrible treatment of Phil aside) I just think it was all crumbling and having lost Culverhouse he was all out of ideas. He did get Wark and co back to the training ground etc and he was at least honest enough to say that the club was in a total mess. Remember the reports of massive argument between Lambert and Evans at the training ground when he was desperate to stay on when the Americans were taking over? [Post edited 3 Sep 23:31]

I don’t have many positive things to say about ME but his last two acts as owner were quite influential in our future success. Firstly bringing in Paul Cook which he probably didn’t need to do knowing a takeover wasn’t far off. Turned out to be a pretty terrible manager for us but he did bring in the core of the squad that gave us back to back promotions. Walton, Hladky, Burgess, Edmundson, Burns, Morsy, Chaplin, Aluko along with others then contributed to our success in L1. Not a bad window even if he couldn’t make it work himself. Secondly, not selling us to the first party that showed any interest in us. With the amount of dodgy owners in the football league, we really are fortunate to have this group in charge. I know some people aren’t keen on MA but I’d have him over what we had for the 15-20 years prior.

Well, 3 months from the date of that article. The 5 year contract is still the most amazing thing, which I'm still convinced was little more than a big F.U. to the fans from Evans

I'm convinced Lambert's biggest problem was he's a bit too simple to manage anyone. Aside from any emotional intelligence he might be lacking I met him on a few occasions in large groups and a couple of times in smaller ones and he can barely string a couple of sentences together. He's so drab, its actually quite hard to follow what he's saying at times, not because of his accent but because when he spoke it was always so muddled and he struggles to articulate himself. No idea how players ever followed his instruction tbh, I'm convinced there's merit in the view that Culverhouse did a fair bit of the heavy lifting. Definitely an arse of a bloke as well, in the Keane mould in that respect I think but to Keane's credit at least he carried an element of charisma. I inadvertently ended up on the p1ss with Lambert and Stuart Taylor once, quite early on in their Town tenure in that relegation season. Think it was Stoke we had just drawn with at PR, we were as good as down by that point IIRC. He can put whiskey away to be fair to him. Lambert was always well dressed as well, I'll give him that.

I heard a rumour he’d succumbed to a life of sex drugs and posting on dodgy websites (Ps I’m joking just in case he decides to sue Phil!!)

Those were the days, when someone on here had a persistent obsession with Norwood and kinda left the board around the same time he did... I would *never* imply that someone from this board was Norwood and bigging himself up, but should OriginalMarkyP be a user name on any Fleetwood forums...

The amount of Lambert press conferences you would listen to and leave it thinking "wtf is he talking about" His default was line was always "if the club want me to go I will go" anytime he got asked a tough question after losing a game. Very odd character.
