Been finding Indian takeaways in Ipswich are dropping in quality on 20:10 - Sep 15 by SuperBobbyPetta | Dhaka is the best in town but pricey. Bekash is good and great value for money. Very underrated. |
Ate at Dhaka a couple of weeks ago and it was really good. Assume doing takeaway allows a discount but not sure. Alishan Pavilion in Kesgrave really good too, used to deliver for them in the Covid era and took a free dish home every night. Got the point where I would sweat curry sauce though.

My issue with Dhaka is their pricing. The menu is over-priced and they offer many discounts to bring the prices back down to a reasonable level - all while giving the impression that the customer is getting a bargain. Not the only Indian establishment to do this in Ipswich - Eastern Spice used to do this as well (may well still do)

Been finding Indian takeaways in Ipswich are dropping in quality on 10:00 - Sep 16 by JimmyJazz | Chutneyz offers an interesting 'different' kind of menu Otherwise give Bay of Bengal on Nacton Road a try, it doesn't look like much - just a basic take out only place - but the food is good. |
I know a lot of Indians friends recommended that previously

A little further out, but we've always enjoyed Bombay Nite out in Walton.

Been finding Indian takeaways in Ipswich are dropping in quality on 22:22 - Sep 15 by ArnoldMoorhen | How many times did you have COVID? I'm not being facetious- my taste buds took a battering from it. |
I've had no taste or sense of smell since having covid in 2021. It's no fun and makes eating out very difficult. "How was the meal?". Perfect, thank you.... probably........ | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Been finding Indian takeaways in Ipswich are dropping in quality on 09:51 - Sep 16 by JakeITFC | My friend's wife is Indian and goes mad for Chennai Dosa and also recommends the biriyani place inside the Tower Food Hall in terms of authentic Indian stuff. |
Hyderabadi Biryani, I think, is the place inside the Food Hall - it is fully, fully banging. Absolutely excellent food. I fear that the Food Hall is not gonna be around much longer, which will be a great shame. Best British Indian is still probably Bekash, although Jaipur and Masha are both decent still.

The food hall has been REALLY dead the few times I've been in there. The general vibe of the place just seems a bit wrong, can't put my finger on it, but it all feels a bit sterile and lacking in warmth.

That sucks. Monumentally. I don't know if I've had COVID. Tested negative every time but there was a strain that wasn't showing as positive on home tests according to a few GPs a couple of winters ago. I got dog-sick that winter. I still maintain that I'm a Novid. 😁

Yeah, I feel the same. It's too big; and always has been. Same old barn it was in the Yates days. The Indian joint is easily the best counter in there - the Bao lot binned it off to go to Bar 21/ Degeros/ whatever its called now, I think - and then you've got Fries/ Burger/ Pizza left - all quite good, but quite good isn't. er., good enough. Anyway the Indian counter is awesome, and everyone should go there.

Been finding Indian takeaways in Ipswich are dropping in quality on 15:07 - Sep 16 by AljoBlue | not takeaway related but, cooking curry's BIR style is quick and easy. Make up a batch of base gravy, divide and freeze, similarly make a load of chicken tikka on bbq and freeze. get yourself either the curry guy's bible or misty ricardo's book and you will be away. the downside is after cooking from the above books, takeaways will be even more dissapointing this recipe is great: https://greatcurryrecipes.net/2022/07/29/chicken-chilli-garlic-from-scratch/ [Post edited 16 Sep 15:09]

This guy is great! Just prepared an uttapam batter for later in the week. Takes a while but very much worth it.
