Unless they're committing a crime (which, by my understanding, they weren't) there's little the authorities can legally do.
Sure, they could find a way of blocking the projection, or suggest to the hotel that they find grounds within their T&Cs to turf them out, but to arrest them in order to spare Trump's blushes is scarily Orwellian. | |

Why should they block the projection? When the Chinese Premier visited I remember the Met police parking their vans to block the sight of Tibetan flags.
Free speech and protest are fundamental planks of a democracy and using the police to suppress lawful protest is disgusting.

It’s under the planning regs by the looks of it, falling under advertisements and notices. Loads of stuff here but I only skimmed it and it’s not anything I’ve ever looked into https://www.gov.uk/guidance/advertisements#criminal-offence-without-consent
I assume pressure was brought to bear because of the profile of the gist. But you’re right that it’s inconsistent with LBD (unless they obtain permission or get around loopholes somehow through assumed assent).
