I wont be, but did make one of the daftest decisions in my years on 13:12 - Sep 18 with 701 viewsGrief

watching football, I went to Blackburn on a wednesday night to watch us get beaten 3-0 in a Full members/simod cup tie! A dreadful performance and a really long midweek round trip

Liverpool last night, Lakes today (wet), Skipton tomorrow and Blackburn Sat.

Nothing like a nice few days walking in Sept sunshine...

As child with no interest in football, Ewood Park is one of the first football grounds I can actually remember seeing in person (along with Portman Road and Burnden Park), back when it still looked like this:

It took another 15-odd years before I discovered the joys of the game, since then Ewood Park has been on my list of a grounds I wanted to visit but somehow it never happened. 30-odd years after I first clocked it, I'll finally be seeing a match on the inside :-)

Blackburn and Preston are probably only two away games you can buy with no problems. If you not season ticket holder etc.

I'm parking up by the Golden Cup and then will head to the Fernhurst. Sounds like the place to be! Lots of free on street parking by the Cup, understand that's not the case around Ewood. Right by the motorway too.

Taking out a mortgage so that WB Junior and I can go by train. Leaving Ipswich on the 0758 via Peterborough and Leeds.

Forest are at Burnley so might bump into a few of them at Leeds Station.

The train costs are sickening, we’ve taken to driving and often staying over as it’s cheaper than the train

Me and a mate will be there as well, driving up from BSE tomorrow but staying in Preston, as Blackburn appears slightly less than salubrious.

Beers in Preston tomorrow, and again after the game, then drive home Sunday. We're getting the train from Preston and back on Saturday, so will try to pop in the Fernhurst pre-game if we have time.

Looking forward to it.

First away game for me in a long while, finally the stars of ticket availability, lack of family commitments and local-ish away day have aligned.

Same. I’m taking my lad and we’re combining it with a look around some possible university towns for him. And coincidentally Google Maps is saying it’s exactly the same time from here as it was from my old house in Ipswich.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

That's the thing about lakes, they tend to be wet.

I never get the ‘putting the miles on the car’ argument, they’re there to be driven no?

I drove to all the away games in the last Championship season except Leicester, Norwich, Birmingham and all the London ones and last season all of them except all the London ones again, Southampton, Brighton and Bournemouth.

Plymouth and Newcastle there and back on the day were probably the worst haha.

Once you have a car it is there to be driven - my car went through the 200k mile mark driving home after the Southampton game!

We'll be heading to Blackburn on Saturday which is one of the shorter trips with 'only' a 380 mile round trip. Middlesbrough on a Friday night will be a pain in the hoop for those based in Suffolk but that will be our shortest hop of the season.
