What a farce that was. Absolutely shocking conditions - but the fans were in great form.

We’ve got away with this too because in a few weeks we’d be battering the likes of these I reckon.

And, Budgie 'legend' Cûntwell gets his goal scrubbed off as well, which is a nice bonus.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Hopefully, Sammy Szmowaddywaddy gets to play with 11 players on the pitch for us too, as surely, it's written in the stars that he gets a goal there in normal conditions?

Fans sounded in great form at the end Mullet, almost like a win?

From watching it on telly… for me the conditions affected our game right from the start, is that how it seemed live?

Even the 4/5 chances we carved out in the first half, were created by battling against the pitch and were a struggle

Albeit Hirst’s chance probably relied on the ball dying as it the turf in the penalty area

Clarke seemed to adjust quite well to the pitch when he came on, but then he started to struggle to move the ball at his feet.

Right decision to call it off. That final pass that died in a puddle was ridiculous.

I really, really want to agree with you Mullers. My hesitation is that we said that sort of thing Iast season and it never happened.

We said we had way more quality than most teams in the division and it would click soon?

Nope! We said we’d start to click and pick up results

We should absolutely batter most teams, if McKenna doesn't get us up he deserves the sack.

Our squad is embarrassingly good on paper. If we aren't in the mix by Christmas something has gone catastrophically wrong.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

You're absolutely spot on with your assessment. I thought the conditions favoured Blackburbs style if plsy sll afternoon. On a better pitch I think we beat them well. However, Town didn't ( can't?) adspt, and we really should do better perhaps.

Loved the usual Town fans humour, and top top support in numbers for that distance and weather.

What's your view on why we slowcthings down so much? Is that tactical instructions or a lack of confidence? On Town TV, Westlake lamented numerous times that McAteer didn't just go at his man when he got him one v one (sometimes that was actually a centre back too) and he was clear our movement of the ball was just too slow.
Rovers were bang average. I expected us to see them off in the 2nd half but the sending off and God saw to that

Probably just a lack of partnerships yet, seemed weird we didn't use McAteer more. Seemed to rely on it coming to him if Leif or Philogene's work went across goal more often than not.

The whole game today was weird and in hindsight means nothing. I do think when we play it direct down the channels we stretch teams more, but the defence seem reluctant to do it too often.

Cajuste and Matusiwa are more than capable of switching the ball several yards.

I thought we were pretty quiet considering there was about 4,000 there. The loudest we were was during the stoppage as there wasn’t a lot to cheer up until that point. Mind you, it’s a good turn out for a long trip when things haven’t been going well for a year.

I thought the fans were a bit subdued at times in the game compared to most away games. But maybe it's partly due to the fact that a lot of our good songs are no more with the disappearance of players. And when it comes to new songs, I don't think Jens Cajuste has quite the same resonance or link to the lyrics of the original song as Hibs Away.

The conditions definitely had an impact in both halves.

Blackburn played with two lines when not in possession, and were able to concertina, so when the ball was in our possession near our box, there was a larger gap between the two lines, as the ball was moved closer towards the halfway line their first line dropped back and was very close to the rear line, making it congested to play through the lines.

And, because of the weather conditions, it wasn't possible to play the ball over the top as during the first half it skidded on straight through to the keeper. So we had to try to either pass through or dribble through the congested lines.

During the second half the ball decided to just stop dead in puddles, whether we passed it or dribbled it.

On a fair weather day, in the second half Jack Clarke had a dribble which would have seen him cutting inside one on one with the keeper.

He managed to drag the ball all the way to the edge of the area when it just stopped dead in a puddle and he stumbled past it.

Farcical stuff, but it was several minutes later that the ref called it off.

Leif Davis was majestic in the Second Half. He was the only player able to play on that pitch and make the necessary adjustments to pretty much do what he would have done on a good pitch.
