O'Shea did well to highlight pitch conditions yesterday 10:11 - Sep 21 with 1490 views | BlacknGoldnBlue | O'Shea realised Town were not at the races yesterday and being down to 10 men kept trying to play the ball across the back line. Everytime it wasn't rolling properly he was highlighting it to the ref.... It may not be the Ipswich way but its a good level of sh1thousery to give us another shot in better weather with 11 players... His constantly nagging of ref may be a difference maker at end of season.

O'Shea did well to highlight pitch conditions yesterday on 10:39 - Sep 21 with 1292 views | Garv | It's a noticeable difference this season, any sign of controversy or a big decision he is straight over having a word. You'd probably have regarded Morsy as an 'in the referee's ear the whole game' type player but O'Shea does it a lot more and must do it cleverly as he doesn't ever seem to annoy the referee by doing it.

Apart from the match being abandoned, it never really worked, as that ref gave us absolutely nothing yesterday, he was woeful. Corners and throw ins given the wrong way, fouls on our players ignored and almost immediately after given the other way. Shocking.

New role probably playa a part in that. ..under new regulations starting with the 2025-26 season, only team captains are permitted to approach and speak with referees…’

I’m 100% a professional like him will watch that game back to assess how wonderful his arms and torso looked in that soaked wet shirt.

He was awful. Not seen the Davis foul yet, but regardless of whether it was or wasn’t a penalty I doubt he’d have given it. There were some savage challenges flying in from them. From their 10 fouls one yellow given.. from our supposed 15 .. 4 yellow and a red.

which is part of his job as captain imo. you might well have regarded Morsy as an 'in the referee's ear the whole game' type player, but the reality is he rarely ever was during a game, certainly nowhere near the level opposition captains always seem to be having a chat.

It was really noticeable last year how many players from other teams were in the referees face after every bit of contact. We really didn’t do to the same level. It’s not something I like but you feel we need to do more of it. Chaplin was one of the few who seemed clued up in this respect. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

My lad who’s a Swansea fan and neutral said at the end of the first half “this is the worst ref I’ve ever seen”. He’s not had that much experience of bad refs, but he wasn’t wrong. Corners and throwing given the wrong way, couldn’t spot handballs, gave yellows for some sliding lunges and not even a freekick for others. He was all over the place.

O'Shea did well to highlight pitch conditions yesterday on 13:17 - Sep 21 with 363 views | textbackup | Seems a bit desperate, doesn’t it? We were playing Blackburn, with a multiple million pound squad. Likely won’t be a popular thing to say tho

And was it actually a pen? Wasn't clear to me if Furlong actually caught the cheating, diving ex scummer as he went down as if he'd been shot.

O'Shea did well to highlight pitch conditions yesterday on 13:35 - Sep 21 with 262 views | RobTheMonk | Hirst's excellent tackle resulted in a yellow. I can only think the ref thought the tackle was over zealous, but if you're booking for tackles like that then you may as well ban slide tackles. Matu also won the ball clean as a whistle and got a foul given against him. His reaction was telling for that one not being a foul.

I think so, not so much as a foul, but it was a coming together, Furlong basically tripped over his back leg by the looks of it, wasn't really a tackle of any kind.
