Verdict today then… 13:11 - Sep 22 with 6210 viewsBloots

….anybody got any idea of what time?

Looking forward to visiting the Blackburn forum.

Might even set up an account, like the old days.

Just seen a Blackburn fan suggest they should get 2 points and us 1 - I think I’d be tempted to take that haha.

Local journo suggests we replay the game but let them score a goal, that would quiet the Blackburn mob down and then we just go for it.

and Greaves lamps their centre forward to get another red and make it even fairer?

RIP Sir Bobby

I still can't help the feeling the EFL might do something completely mad.

The rules are perfectly clear however, you replay the game and deduct Everton 8 points.

You spelt Everton wrong. It's L I V E R P O O L.

if you were a blackburn fan, you'd be so relieved at finally getting rid of the yellow yoke that you'd agree to anything!

it's worrying how late the decision is being made. It looks like they will throw out the decision at 16:59. then close the offices so nobody has a chance to reply today.

I believe the blazers have finished their lunch and are into the ports, brandy and cheese now. Providing they stay awake, they will give it consideration at 4.00 and having flipped a coin to determine any action will ask Tompkins in Communications to issue a press release.

I hope that the press release will also tell us what sort of cheese they had.

That's very reasonable and well put, but equally, if I were a Blackburn fan, I'd see no justice in a replay in the circumstances.

Glad I'm not deciding this one.

If I were a Blackburn fan I think I'd be looking squarely at the ownership for not investing in a pitch that doesn't drain. Although to be fair I don't think any of them particularly like their ownership anyway.

Where does it say it is coming today? I can't find anything that refers to when the verdict will be announced.

Lord so and so will conduct an enquiry which consists of a minimum of 6000 words. The results will be announced early 2027. Retrospective points addition/deduction will take place in season 2027-2028. Points deduction/additions will only take place if the teams involved are in the Championship.
The Ipswich player sent off in the game between Blackburn and Ipswich Town on Saturday 20/09/2025 will be suspended until the enquiry concludes.
Blackburn Rovers pitch will be ploughed up and turned into a municipal tip by order.

Somewhere for Birmingham City council to tip their rubbish

….plus they’ve just confirmed on the wireless that representatives from the clubs have been with the EFL today and an announcement is expected later.

Andy Ward just said on Anglia News that he’s spoken to the club and they said they’ve not heard anything from the EFL.

Knowing Anglia News they probably asked the club at 9 this morning.

If it's anything similar to the timeframes the football authorities work to in relation to Man City and Leicester then I fully expect a verdict by early January 2027. Unless of course one of the clubs decides to appeal, in which case maybe Summer 2027. Then of course there will be multiple potential lawsuits of other Championship clubs who might have finished 1 point below/above either of us so that will have to be put back until maybe the season after.

Made the fateful mistake of popping onto Facebook. We have some odd fans. Many thinking it woudl be nice to hand them the points or let them have a goal on any replay as a nice thing to do.

Are they actually aware this is a competition with significant impacts based on where you finish in the league and not a charity? I genuinely worry about some people.

Replay the game and batter them is the only right way in terms of the league position and goal difference and our challenge for promotion

Nothing today, I believe. I was told over the weekend that it would be Monday afternoon at the earliest.

Phil, do you know if there’s any appeal process as with a Norwich executive as part of the committee I have a bad feeling about this? I also can’t get my head around the fact that the FA’s rules seem very clear on this yet the EFL’s rules are not cut and dried; how the hell can the EFL’s rules trump the FA’s?

I don't know, to be honest. Similarly, I don't know whether a Norwich member of the board would be required to recuse themselves. Situation with the rules seems unsatisfactory at best!

You would think she would recuse, or be asked to, as it would leave any decision that goes against us as open to intense criticism at best and maybe even legal challenges as with the greatest will in the world how could she be seen to be totally impartial. Ludicrous on the part of the EFL
