Potter to United, it's the only realistic option.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Weird one, United. Spent hundreds of millions the last few years but every game they still have Shaw and Maguire lumbering around.

Although Harry Maguire just won Masterchef so at least he has career options post-football.

They can keep changing managers all they like, but other problems will keep them struggling. They haven't finished the necessary squad renovation yet, according to ManU-supporting friends of mine.

Is it just me that finds it really pathetic for a manager not to be able to watch league game penalties.

Agree, pathetic.

They should try and fire him without compensation for that and saying sometimes he hates his own team.

He has one formation and is absolutely clueless.

Man U hierarchy must be in despair. So many manager failures since SAF! They can’t all be bad; makes you wonder what the underlying reason for repeat failures.

Not unlike here though with multiple failing manager but an awful lot not wanting to connect the dots to the one constant. The ownership.

I can see that here - Evans had too much say. But do the Utd owners have the same level of input? Potty if yhey do - what do they know about Football?

Think is more about cash to be honest. Here, few wanted to criticise Evans as he was perceived to be the clubs saviour, we would have gone under without him, and without him putting £8m a year in, we’d go under.

How many times did you see the response “No one is buying football clubs” or “there’s hardly a queue of buyers”

With United they are between a rock and a hard place. The squad needs continued rebuilding and the stadium is literally falling down, the fear is that without the Glaziers/Ratcliffe that United disappear into the Championship or the stadium doesn’t happen, or their spending power goes through the floor. Occasionally you’ll see United fans protest against the ownership, but then they sack a manager, the protests go away and the hope begins again.

It’s a poisoned chalice that job, not helped by the ghost SAF in the directors box, still having the ear of the power men and hanging over every manager since Moyes like the sword of Damocles. The first thing I’d demand as a manager going in there is banning SAF from the training ground and the boardroom.
