At the dinner table, and when out at a restaurant, we have a ‘no tech’ rule which we’re quite strict about with our kids.
But I do think that there’s an air of snobbery when people criticise some for looking at their phones instead of talking - what’s the difference between people surfing the net or people reading newspapers, ignoring each other. |

I’m lucky enough to have lived in an era of inside lavatories..triple ply aloe Vera toilet paper and then progressing from taking a newspaper then laptop and now phone for a poo.
We’ve never had it so good.
I do occasionally on a quick trip out to the shops though treat myself to not taking my phone for the trip too … it adds a little more excitement to life. |  |

I've only noticed it once or twice but that may be because I tend to effect a thousand yard stare while I'm using the urinals, definitely no glancing to the left or right. Doesn't it look incredibly dodgy to have your phone out while weeing anyway? I don't want someone filming me tackle in hand thank you very much. | | | |
