Jens does stuff like this a minimum of once a game too- appreciate McGoldrick’s natural ability was a shining light in a relatively dark time but the glazing is unbelievable.

It's good but Cajuste does that four times a game

Do you remember the immediate moment after that much glazed clip?

No. That’s why I was asking what?

Makes you wonder if that's the main reason that Cajuste never took off at Napoli? You can't be that loose in possession at the elite level. You can just about get away with it in the Champ, but not on the big occasions when it's all about the fine margins.

He made well over 30 appearances in the season with Napoli.

He left for two reasons knee issues and new signings coming in.

Agreed. It's made more frustrating because of how much talent Cajuste clearly has. I really want to see him evolve from a bit luxury to more dependable. When it comes to his use of the ball and his decision making in tight areas he needs to put together complete more performances. He's so up and down, and was the same last season but that's to be expected at that level, at this one he has to be more consistent.

100%, believe I saw him dispossessed three times in the first half yesterday when there was little cover behind him. In the PL it probably would have resulted in us conceding 1-2 goals. One of those was the clip in this thread, which rather takes the shine off it until my memory fades. Naturally he also had a couple of great moments, none more so than his glorious tackle.

Didzy's gif is pure slapstick on top of beauty; unsure it will ever be beaten.

Someone needs to put the Partridge commentary over the top of Philogene's goal. Foot like a traction engine.

Didn't Gwion Edwards do similar in years gone by? Or are my nightmares merging into reality again?

Has anyone got a clip of the one from the second half where Philogene(?) turned McLean(?) and seemingly had a foul awarded against him for giving McLean whiplash?

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

If it's what I'm thinking of, I think he trod on his shin whilst spinning, similar vibes to that one in the Chelsea Vs Fulham game a few weeks back.

My gut feeling is that it's a concentration issue. That's a hard one to coach, I imagine. I mean, it surely can be done, but if you've always had a tendency to switch off, how do you fix that?

Perhaps the reason Matusiwa was targeted was because he can complement Cajuste's style and ability with his engine and ability to break up play?

I do seem to remember that Cajuste was absolutely excellent at digging out balls in tackles last season, without drawing fouls.

Maybe it's just a patch of poor form. I hope it's that, because I really like him.

On his debut against Blackburn I think. Possibly an even more outrageous bit of skill than Walle Egeli's if memory serves.

There might be something in that. There's a world of difference between a naturally gifted player and a highly effective one on a consistent basis. He's clearly a better footballer than Luongo on paper but what Massimo did so well was consistently deliver a level. You just knew what you would get from him, in and out of possession. Cajuste needs to flatten his line a bit, it's chaotic at times. Especially in the role he's playing, concentrate on ball retention, don't over complicate it, and deliver 7 out of 10 performances for 60-70 minutes of games rather than the 15 minutes of world beater to panel beater we're seeing.

He's fooking strong and has so much ability, if he can do that he's one of the best in the division, hands down.

I think panel beater is a bit harsh!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.
