Mad how for half a season he looked like a quality striker

a niche perspective

Well, it's good to see a player keep on keeping on...
He should steam roll that level.
Wish him well.. And hope he can use his experience to benefit and young diamonds they might have at the club....

They're hardly short of experience. Tom Eastman and Freddie Sears for starters

Good luck to the lad. Shocking that he was playing in the Championship for QPR just a couple of years ago, he's still in his 20s, and he's dropping to Isthmian North level! Hope he tears it up for them and is back on the up again.

Wow - so sad to see him fall so far so quickly.

Great memories of a stunning goal v MK Dons (I think) and that sneaky behind the keeper thing he did!

Are Maldon & Tiptree trying to do something at the moment? Seen a few big names end up there lately. Wonder if they've recently got rich owners or something?

Waste of time them being in that league. Now Sears, Bonne, Wordsworth, Tom Eastman, Gary Hooper. Got Kevin Horlock to drop down 2 divisions from Needham to be employed at Maldon full time. Needs to be something in non-league that stops this happening, or at least 2 auto spots so the rest of the league have something to play for

Linesman probably aren’t as good at that level. He’ll do well…

Ultimately he proved not good enough for the level we wanted to be at, and i'm relieved we didn't waste money on a permanent deal (which seemed a possibility at one point)

BUT....

That half season was great, and just at the right time. We had come off the Evans era and the bomb squad where players never seemed to care at all. As results weren't that great either - it was good to have someone who you knew would do anything to play for us.

It's difficult to explain that, but even as someone who hails from south of the border when Town fans were singing 'he's one of our own' it gave me chills as you knew it wasn't just a nonsense chant but meant something to people.

The 'he's behind you' goal v Wednesday will always be fondly remembered so i'm pleased he'll always have his place in our history (even if it was Chappers who scored it!)

Wish him nothing but the best, think hes a league player, not sure what's caused his loss of form but he scored some important goals for us in that half a season and is a proper town fan.

Was playing championship football up to 2023 now well down the leagues. Odd one.

Maldon & Tiptree into the first round proper of the cup. Decent chance that there will be an Essex derby, with Southend, Braintree and Chelmsford also through, plus Colchester of course.

A disappointing day for Suffolk football with Needham Market's defeat at Weston Super Mare. Commiserations to them.

I think he genuinely got his dream to play for us and was probably desperate for a perm deal. Feels a bit like he didn't get over it and fell out of love with the game a bit possibly. Lost his motivation maybe? It aware if any injury setbacks but just didn't seem to have hi mojo anymore for the game.

Really enjoyed his time with us but if he's gone there he's dead to me now.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
