But 2-1 away against a team that’s started like Boro have isn’t the end of the world at all. We weren’t great today but if that penalty goes in it’s a different story entirely.

Improvement is needed but this is still a squad that’s largely unfamiliar with eachother.

We’ll get there

Exactly how I feel

Disappointing tonight but don't feel too bad.

To be honest, I'm just looking forward to seeing KM build this next side. I just want to see that. More than demanding immediate promotion form.

Exactly that, when this team becomes a team it’ll be quite something

This is correct but I think people are frustrated because we were very sloppy and lacked a bit of fight.

You can’t just look at the end result. Performance was dire, all over the pitch.

But yet despite a poor performance we’ve lost by one goal in one of the toughest games we’ll have this season and missed a penalty.

Look at the game. Watch it. Xg, big chances created, big saves by palmer. We should have lost by many more.
Surely you see that right?

Yep. And everyone seems to have forgotten we should have had another blatant pen.

Yea thats how I feel.
All theflouncers on the game thread.
Handball to prevent goal.
Penalty save by excellent dive.
Own goal from attempted clearance.

It just all went their way at home.

I'm afraid we're still in third gear. And lets save Philogene for the home games if McKenna is perhaps making him pass the ball on the box edge?

They squeezed it, but common, it was close don't flounce.

Dear oh dear.

We’ve spent £125m to assemble a squad for the Championship, and we now going with a 2-1 defeat with that performance isn’t the end of the world.

Fallen off.

I personally have no issue with a bit of a flounce. I’ve been guilty of it many many times and I’m sure I’ll have more before the end of the season. I just don’t necessarily think today warrants it

Can’t get a bigger chance than missed pen and Palmers first 2 saves were because Kipre kept passing to them - second goal offside with var🤷‍♂️

I think the shoreline flattered us somewhat. Palmer pulled off some worldie saves - he’s not repeating that every week.

The performance was more disappointing than the result for me, very few things came off for us today. Boro showed how to play with pace and determination. People were bemoaning Derby and Preston low blocking us and killing the game. Boro came to play us tonight and beat us at our own game.

Yes I'd expect an away win.

Also. What's with boro being the toughest test?

This group has been largely together for 4 months now, including a pre season, plus a proportion being here last year.

You would have hoped to seen more across the board at this stage, not flashes, but in sustained periods/performances.

Really poor.

Boro away is the biggest test. Look at their goals against.

Only trouble is we will be competing with them. So needed to take points from them. Lets hope they lose to lower teams.

Personally I think we need to be a lot nearer being there by now than I'm seeing! We were pretty dire tonight.

We had several decent chances, but need to put them away.

Boro’s chances were nearly all self-inflicted by us giving the ball away or by passive defending.

Blue-tinted glasses? Perhaps, but then, I’m an Ipswich fan.

Having said that, there’s several players who are performing well below the levels we know they are capable of, and need to improve pretty sharpish.

Our Xg was 1.97 compared to their 1.86. we had 17 shots to their 15, 5 shots on target each.

Just saying.

Don't get me wrong, I think they deserved to win, and at times it was a defensive horror show from us, but the idea we should have been hammered and weren't in the game is a bit daft.

I Genuinelly felt like it was ipswich v leeds away again. Where we could have scored 3 but boro should have scored more. we just didn't manage the game well at all, far far to advanced by our side when ever we got to the final third, leaving just 2 defenders on halfway inviting the counter.

All rather odd considering the pace of boro's lineup

Surely you see the big chances we didn't score (and the other pen we didn't get)?!

Makes me laugh when you negative twonks see every opposition chance as a goal but don't afford the same generosity to your own team!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.
