The manager has no chance of changing this shape, but I think the above would be much more solid for away matches and much less predictable. You could fit Azor in the 3 man engine room. Taylor is needed much more in away games. We had no bite last night. I know lots of our fans dont rate Taylor, but I think he could be the missing link for us. This formation also gives us much more room for Davis to roam. All other defenders must stay in their own half and create more space for us instead of blocking space in opponents half. Agree that 10 role looks the position we’ve really fallen off on - Chaplin had that role locked down, and Szmodics and Akpom are completely different profiles.

Thing is with chappers, it wasn;t just his ability to play quick balls, he knew the gaps to get into when we got the ball in dangerous areas.

Had such a special cohesion and connection in our attacking play with that front quartet + Davis. It’s so rare in football to be that connected, to have such good understanding, balance and quality. | | | |

This excites me the most. We don't appear to have a round peg in the squad for the central 10 position, I don't like the idea of benching Philogene when he's been phenomenal at home lately, and Clarke's a very talented fella. Maybe he'll look lost and bullied but just maybe he'll nail it with his tricky feet and nicely weighted passing.
No strong opinion on Azón or Hirst to start but I am strongly in favour of seeing that midfield pair together. | | | |
