Definitely a schoolboy error. But what can you do. The alternative is to keep everything and then you end up needing a mansion to store it all. I’ve got rid of all my old shirts, bar the orange 04/05 Powergen one for some reason. I’ve the blackout and white pin strip 3rd as my current match wear (although really should know better at my age and shape).

I picked up one from them about 10 years back - still tagged, with 'WARK 5' on the back and the PL sleeve badges. I'm pretty sure I only paid about £50 for it at the time. Not the biggest fan of CFS - they have very much been one of the key proponents of the massive inflation in the prices of second-hand football shirts over the last decade or so. Stuff that you'd have previously picked up in a charity shop for a fiver or so being flogged for £50+. I maintain that football shirts are going to be the next 'tulip bulbs' type bubble and, eventually, a lot of people are going to be left holding an awful lot of worthless polyester.

I have that TXU shirt too and can confirm it's definitely not one for massive heads...

Quite possibly. It’s probably still there and for sale for 50p.

I’ve gradually sold my large and lovingly curated collection of shirts, mainly on eBay, over the last fifteen years or so It is utterly bewildering how much collectors or fellow fans will pay for them, particularly memorable was an old replica Craig Forest goalie duvet one that went for nearly £300, so I don’t think the polyester bubble will ever really burst. I even sold a couple to former players who didn’t have any from their playing time. I won’t name and shame the former player who’s wife’s cheque bounced (back when eBay allowed postal payments) but that was genuinely amusing and did get sorted very quickly..
