Events you can't stand to watch again 21:38 - Oct 30 with 1063 viewsFrimleyBlue

Anyone got any sporting, or even general events which you can't stand watching again.

Now I don't mean bad things in general that took away lives, but things you know are probably really stupid to get worked up about when you see it again.

For me it's the 2021 F1 Season Finale when Lewis got screwed. Just caught a googlebox episode and they were watching it, omg it feels me with such anger at Masi. I just remember sitting up all night waiting for twitter to show the FIA did the right thing.

Anyway, thought i'd ask if anyone has anything similarly stupid like that.

BTW, i've never been able to rewatch that last lap ever since it happened.

Timm Klose equaliser against us.

I don’t think I’ll ever feel as awful in a football stadium again as I did that day.

As far as I'm aware, there are no easily googled visual records of the 4-1 defeat away to Bolton or the 1-5 at home to Norwich.

We were down in all but numbers at that point.

Am i right in my memories of that year, we were rubbish, then played spurs, won and went on a winning run, then lost to spurs and that was when we suddenly went bad again..

We started......OK, lost poorly away first game of the season but absolutely destroyed Derby and looked like things might be Ok and then didn't win until said game against Spurs, suddenly found some form and then collapsed after Liverpool handed us a lesson at home in what's still probably the best display by an away team at Portman Road I've ever seen.

I could forgive the Liverpool loss, because as I recall they were absolutely on fire at that point, it was letting Chris Bloody Marsden of Southampton walk around half the team like he was Pele that upset me.

Paul Powers free kick. Wasn’t a b***dy free kick for starters, and it was the beats last game.

Yeah. But as has been said multiple times as Town fans “it’s the hope that kills you”, I think there was still a chance if we could get a result that day, and we just failed to turn up.

A photo of that appeared on Twitter earlier. Sickening. It’s a great photo in some ways with the tightly packed Holte End split between Town and City. But yeah. We would have spanked Spurs in the final too.

That's a bad one for me as well.

Had that game happened 12 months earlier there would have been no Extra Time and therefore no Free Kick!

That almost ended F1 for me, and gave me a lifelong hatred of Vercheatstappen.

I used to love F1, even travelled to races in Europe, but now I barely even watch it on TV.

Well shoot. Didn’t know that! Makes it worse. We shall not speak of this game again.

In a different vein - last night's final episode of the remake of 'All Creatures Great & Small'

Triss's reveal re the cause of his PTSD; the announcement of VJ day on an ancient radio; seeing the lit beacons on all the nearest high points while the local brass band played 'I Vow to Thee my Country' - depleted my box of Kleenex. Can't face going through that again!

The Bradford fire. I was only 19 at the time and didn't have a care in the world. As I sat down for my tea waiting for the football results and thinking about who was out that night and would we get lucky it came on the tv . No time delay, just the horror that was unfolding live. It really hit me when suddenly you see a man walk from the back of the stand on fire from head to toe. To this day I can't watch programs about it for fear of that moment being shown again. I never went out that night.

There are so many events that fall into this category Ipswich and England football wise

However one non football event I struggle to watch can be summed up by the brilliant commentary by Ian Bishop below

Carlos Braithwaite - Remember the name

His 4 sixes against England in the 20/20 World final

Gazza not connecting with that cross.

Every time I see it I expect him to score, even now.

This.

Venables was interviewed a decade or two later (2010 I think) on BBC Radio.

Q: How often do you think about that?

A: Every night when I close my eyes in bed.

We beat Spurs twice during that run. It was the heavy home defeat to Liverpool that ended it. The three week break after that didn't help and then we faced Chris Marsden.
