Quite an impressive achievement you have to say, was Trent really that good?
Liverpool are meant to have an amazing data system which analyses all their players and their targets etc, looks like it has failed this summer
From somebody who works in football up there, his belief and that of many is that the Jota thing has effected them quite a lot. Obviously in public though they can't use that as an excuse.
Add in that their two most influential players are ageing now, I think that goes a long way to explaining why they aren't hitting the heights we're used to.

I was just about to write something similar. What has happened to them? Watching the current game they have no cohesion at all. Really lacking ideas up front. We could beat them!

Salah in particular looks a shadow of his former self.
Spent 42 million in 24/25 and won the league..city were floundering..arsenal couldn't make the final push...then the Premier league were supposed to be shaking in their boots with pool spending 482 million this season and what firepower they were going to add .,and be out of sight after a while...bloody hell you couldn't make it up crazy. .and they just look uninterested And salah,can't wait to get out of there ..all the money thrown at them and Newcastle and you still can end up with just bang average teams on any given day ..

As we learned, rebuilding an mass changing a squad in the Premier League is unforgiving. Sunderland managing it but changing a well drilled machine can be troublesome. Sunderland weren't that already.
Don’t underestimate the impact of Salah having a bad spell. For all the talk of stats and metrics, a player like Salah can carry you when he’s on form.

Sunderland play a simpler system which is effective but certainly isn't really the waybto go at the elite echelons of the game

If you get the chance to watch Klopp with Steven Bartlett (Diary of a CEO) interview it will put a little perspective on how the team will be feeling following the loss of Jota.
They have had an upgrade in most departments with the money spent, just not getting them to gel or finding a complete system for them all yet..... sounds a little familiar .
Just shows that money doesn't buy success only heightens the expectation.
A £10m player isn't 10 x better than a £1m player and a £100m player isn't 10 x better than a £10m player, that's just the jump in value to eek out a bit more margin.
If they don't click or work as a team, it won't work.
