Southampton in my opinion.

Just a point behind us after tonight’s games.

RIP Sir Bobby

They’ll batter West Brom, they are truly awful.

Will Still was always an odd appointment, was clearly way, way out of his depth.

I still, think Coventry will win the league and if we finish above Southampton, we’ll be second.

Looks like you’re spot on there, 3 up now.

I think Ryan Mason will be looking for something else before the turkeys join him for a pre-Christmas stuffing.

Which one bit the dust…..dee or dum?….(What’s App group, Nov ‘25)

I know they had a couple of players out, but I was expecting a bit more from Coventry on Saturday if I'm honest. They didn't exactly ask lots of questions of our back 4, for a team that has scored 50 goals already.

I know there have been a few comments about the benefit of squad rotation too, but they really did look cooked towards the end of the match.

In theory Coventry should be the best of the rest. An established top 6 Championship side who are better than most in this league but should be outclassed by the parachute teams.

Unfortunately the parachute teams haven't fared so well against the teams they'd expect to beat. In the second half we showed that we are a level above Coventry but losses to teams like Oxford and Charlton plus draws against Blackburn, Derby, Wrexham and Blackburn have cost us. Coventry will beat most of these teams.

Unfortunately I am.

Boro also looking good.

Big game tomorrow, although Stoke having a little wobble.

Fingers crossed.

Not Millwall?

Southampton couldn't beat them a couple of weeks ago, if they win tomorrow they will 7 points ahead of Southampton.

Millwall don't have the squad depth to last the course.

They've a small squad by comparison, hence two keepers on the bench on Saturday. Can see them being pulled back into the pack as the likes of us, Southampton and probably Sheffield United get stronger and more consistent.

Sheffield United is an interesting shout. Given themselves a lot to do but there is still a long way to go.

Like Plymouth when we were in League 1.

There is a long way to go and time will tell. If Millwall can avoid injuries like Plymouth did that season, they can't be ruled out.

As I've said before, you can be absolute dog sh1t for the first few months of the season and still crash the play offs with a decent run.

League one os an enirly different proposition to competing with 4 or 5 teams who have been playing in the Premier League recently.

Our bench option sin League One were the likes of Kaden Jackson and Gregg Leigh. Not Jack Clarke and Jacob Greaves.

Take out three of our key players* and we can replace them with like for like. Millwall can't do that. We'll also be a lot fresher in March with our rotation policy whereas the majority of Millwall's starting eleven will have played far more minutes.

*Matusiwa aside.

Winning again tonight. It's a long season, as you say. We made some terrible starts under George and made it to third come the end of the season, so far from impossible that they could be in touch by May.

Points deduction incoming and club is a complete basket case. They'll make the play offs though.

Fellows is getting rave reviews now they've got situated with a new coach. I guess we have enough expensive wingers but he's a good signing in the Championship.

Armstrong knows where the net is at this level. We could do with a true proven 20+ EFL striker still.

I think Southampton will be right there.

I can see a four horse race for the autos- us, Cov, Saints and Boro

Weirdly out of those I think Cov might be the least likely

I'd agree but would throw in a surprise like Millwall, I think ultimately 3 teams will finish quite a way above the rest of the top six. Southampton seem to be in mega-run mode as they were last time in this league.

A brilliant result last time out for us but we must get a win tonight and at least a draw Saturday to keep this going. A lot of positivity coming out of PR but ultimately it's what happens on the pitch that matters.

3 tough way games coming up to see the year out and we really need to win at least two of them or get WDD.

Really hoping for another big win tonight but fear a drab 1-0.

Finishing in the top two is a must for us, particularly given how a number of the slow starters are getting their acts together, with the transfer window opening in 3 weeks.
Of course we should fear nobody in this league, given our squad & management, but just how sure of us winning the playoffs would you be if we were in there with Southampton, Leicester & a fast finishing Sheffield United, who themselves know all about the 'best' side losing out in a one-off game.
Coventry & Middlesbrough are both decent sides, with very strong midfields at this level, who will no doubt spend in January, like we did 2 seasons ago, given how close to the promised land they are.
I also think that some are writing off Millwall a bit too quickly, as I definitely expect them to finish in the top 6 (notwithstanding the teams mentioned above); they were a decent outfit last season & only really lost Tanganga over the summer. They have managed to get to 3rd place at this stage of the season, despite some terrible luck with injuries, so I would only expect them to improve from this point onwards - whether they can improve enough to compete with ourselves & Southampton is another matter of course.
