I wonder what Marcus will sell them for?

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

It's disgusting. I thought they were taking the pee in Qatar with tickets starting at about £700, but this is another level. It'd be great if fans sent a message to FIFA by boycotted the whole tournament, but I can't see that happening and the final will sell out, so FIFA won't question their approach one bit.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

It's going to be an unparalleled fiasco, isn't it? Ticket prices well into three figures to see Iran vs New Zealand or Uzbekistan vs Colombia.

With that and the visa thing, I predict there will be a fair few empty seats.

As an England member who has done the last half a dozen or so tournaments my overarching emotion is just sadness at what's become of our game. There really is no justifiable reason for FIFA to have done this - tiny allocations and prohibitively expensive tickets for those most loyal of supporters feels like a kick in the teeth for people who have travelled miles and sunk a lot of time, money and effort in backing their teams in qualification.

There will be the usual stuff about England fans being knuckle draggers and they deserve this treatment but I honestly don't think there could be a sadder indictment of where the so call beautiful game is going than this.

No doubt you will have to show a Donal trump heart tattoo to get entry and half time will be Trump himself rising from a giant clamshell. Plenty of vaseline needed to extract Fifas heads from his a hole.

That's me no longer allowed into the Country as you have to show 5 years social media to gain entry. Oh well.

It was reported that hotel.prices are sky-high too, with match-night prices in host cities at around 4x the regular cost. US is already not cheap, so you're looking at around $1,000 a night.

The complexities & costs of travel are going to be interesting too. Some very, very long trips to follow your team, and few options other than air travel.

I think I'd be turned back before I reached Marks Tey.

Doesn't seem like FiFA has learned any lessons from the Blatter era.

I think they have.

If you try and hide the misdemeanours, you'll get caught.
Do it in plain sight and get away scott free.

Been on a similar journey and won't be going anywhere near the world cup. FIFA has long been a joke of an organisation, you only have to read up on those who voted for Qatar to see how institutionally corrupt they are.

The world cups of the past where fans were based in one area, ticket prices were affordable and camp sites were set up for those on a budget are long gone. Am at an age and fortunate where I could afford to go but I won't. Euros are much more appealing as are cricket tours tbh.

If I wanted an over priced light show I'd go and watch some pop concert.

The football business doesn’t give much of a crap about fans who go to games, unfortunately. Clubs are still generally on board with considering attending fans, although not always with some of the silly ticket prices. And obviously we’re milked when we’re in grounds for crap food/drinks at inflated prices. But generally it’s not too bad.

The League and Tournament owners on the other hand… it’s all about global income and I’m convinced they couldn’t care less about actual fans. FIFA would be happy with a stadium full of corporates as long as they get huge broadcast fees.
