What a lot of fans wanted. 21:36 - Dec 14 with 1370 viewsDavoIPB

Isnt this what a lot of fans wanted. A lot were saying hoe they hated the prem, what with plastic fans, less games, VAR and not having the money to compete. Losing most games within the first twenty mins. The championship is so poor this year if we were getting it half right and in the top two would t we just be going back to that place that a lot of fans didn't want to be? I think we would have all settled for an exciting push to be in the play offs wouldn't we with a see how it goes attitude.

It's not quite how it is though is it? We look truly terrible as a footballing team this year. Absolutely no buzz about the place. No connection with the players. Awful recruitment and it does not look like getting any better. So where do we go from here. What has to happen?

Terrible is a massive exaggeration. I enjoy watching us a lot of the time. It's just not consistent enough.

Some fans were more keen to put to bed that run against nodge than to get promoted again. I can understand we don't want another season like last season but unless you are aiming for promotion what's the point really? The real challenge is to get promoted and then find a way to do far better. Sunderland appear to be showing it is still possible. The way Wolves are now, there is no way all 3 promoted sides are returning this season.

You are still being far too negative, along with a few others. There's been some great moments this season, plenty of highlights, it's just not what we'd hoped for or expected. But not a disaster or terrible, and there's still more than half the season to go.

I'm sure most of us still want to go up despite the experience of last season. I certainly don't want us to spend another 15 years in the Championship, nooo thanks.

We are certainly mediocre and the lack of energy on pitch is hardly going to get fans on their feet.

But in the context of the dirge served up on field and half empty PR in the Keane/Jewell/Mcarthy/Lambert/ era’s it’s a massive upgrade.

Take the points made in the responses. I am always a bit dramatic in what I write. I suppose it is the potential of the team that makes it frustrating to watch the football on display at the minute. I actually think we played really well second half against Coventry and for most of the game against stoke. We did a job. Worked hard and McKenna quiet easily outthought lampard in tactics in the second half.

Well as you started off pretty well, where i would agree and I am one who doesn't care about the PL, you then fall down into a big pit of nonsense. The last section of moaning just doesn't ring true to my observations. We are not where we are hoped to be but crumbs if all that you said was true I think we would be in the same position as those fine feathered friends up the A140. Please get a grip.

Here's my thought process of late.

Don’t let circumstance yank your nervous system around like a badly trained dog.

People let Coventry and Stoke wins get them riding high, we lose to Leicester and they come crashing down. Reality is, 6 out 9.

I hate that this team cost so much, I've said this so often, that a £10m player is never 10x better than a £1m one. People expect this team to blow others away just on the basis of what they cost and that's a major issue.

I'm happy to give it time to evolve. Not happy at losing, just happy to let it iron out creases, change one or two players who don't quite fit or find a player or two to make it fit.

We'll be there or thereabouts.

"Truly terrible"!

The English language is taking an absolute beating from a lot of our fans at the moment, words are just losing their meaning completely, it's nuts.

Fair play that you manage to enjoy watching us play, think theres been about two games this season we've actually been enjoyable to watch.

I think the cost of players plays subconsciously on a lot of people's minds and I include myself in that

Is a £10m player 10x better than a £1m player ? Absolutely not !

But ......driving a Rolls Royce (or at least the cost of ) should be a better experience than driving around a Fiat Punto

Woeful is another one.

Indeed. It feels like your OP (like a lot of posts on here) is more a reaction to the frustration of Saturday.

It always is, get hyped before the game. Think we are going to be up for it (should know better) and then we are fairly poor.
