Given the claims by Alan Nixon that Chieo isn't in Wilder's plans, what do we reckon Town's stance is?
He looked decent for Eire a couple of months back, and would be a step up on a clearly-deflated McAteer. But, with Burns back and Sindre looking good (notwithstanding the suggestion that he's bound for the 10 role), I can see that MA and KMc might not see him in their plans either.
Could Chieo play for another club this season? Or, if we don't want him, is it more likely to be a case of holding Sheffield to the terms of the original loan? |  |

Seen lots of posts about getting players in but we are at the squad limit now, can't see us registering 3/4 right wingers.

I like Cheio as a Championship option, whenever I’ve seen him for Ireland he looks a real threat.
However given it would currently leave us with 4 RW, in addition to 4 RB, it just adds to current unbalance in the squad. |  | | |

If Burns is still Burns, then we've just acquired an additional RW option, and we surely have no need to recall Ogbene. And if he's not in his current manager's plans, I don't see why he'd be good enough to usurp what we have at Town.
The main point of agreement though is that whoever we have, and whoever we recall, all of them would be ahead of McAteer.
The reason for that is up for much more debate. Attributing it all to confidence is to show a seasonal generosity of spirit of which Santa would be proud. But I would love that to be the sole cause of McAteer's total lack of contribution thus far. |  | | |

I suspect he’ll have to kick his heels at United as he’s clearly not part of our plans for the season. He cant play for any other club bar us and United. The only way he comes back here is if we offload one of the existing RW options. That can’t be Mcateer (unless Leicester would have him back), so the only realistic option would be Wes.
Personally I’d rather have a fully fit Wes, but whether he will be the same player after that horrendous injury remains to be seen. | |

Me neither but we registered 4 right backs.
I think that Johnson, H Clarke, Baggot and Humphreys go this window, whether on loan or permanently. If we get in a midfielder I wouldn't be surprised to see Jack Taylor go. Probably one more who we aren't even thinking about. |  |

H Clarke - Permanent
Johnson - Permanent
Button - Deregister (a third pro keeper feels a luxury, and a role that should be filled by a youngster)
Those five would allow for a striker, CDM, and a 10, whilst still allowing two further flexible places, if I've got my understanding right. | |

Not sure who is going to pay Johnsons wages on a perm but could see him moving on if we can find someone.
I guess we could also go for someone younger like Egeli who wouldn't need to be registered.
Definitely need to move some on though.

All this talk of removing players from the 25 man squad must be having an impact in much the same way our summer signings disrupted the squad.
There must be too many players in the current squad wondering what the future holds. It isn’t good with regard to creating togetherness.
We need to do our talking on the pitch, starting tomorrow evening. Those fortunate to be going to Coventry this evening need to get behind every town player on the pitch and make a difference. No singling out players for abuse.

Aah - he played 71 minutes in the League Cup at Bromley. I guess that's why there's no recall clause. So he can kick his heels in Sheffield or we can take him back. Can't see there's much of a role for him here. | |

If McAteer could find a good loan it could happen, but it's a risk. Ogbene is injury prone and McAteer is fit most weeks (and not as bad as made out).
Also, I keep seeing that Walle Egeli is 'looking good' but I'm not totally convinced of that yet. A few year's time yes, but if he's first choice for the rest of the season I'll feel a bit uneasy.

I don't see him as being ahead of Egeli. McKenna didn't think he was good enough for a place and now Wilder doesn't think he is good enough.
We need to persist with Egeli or move him central, the upside is just so much better over the longer term.
